Since it is most likely this film is going to be released in 2009, it may just be released on the tenth anniversary of the series, which would be March 28. It has been confirmed for April 2008 in Europe, so this is very likely.

David X. Cohen released a tiny bit of plot detail, saying "It will have a real epic sci-fi story that involves this ancient battle that's been going on for billions of years and our crew of course ends up in the middle of that. It ends on a real sweet note and we'll be content with that if it's the last we ever do."

Into the Wild Green Yonder is the fourth Direct-to-DVD film, to be released in 2009.

As of 8 July, 2007 the voice acting for all the films (which includes the fifth season) is finished, according to Lauren Tom.[1] Guest stars include Penn Jillette, Snoop Dogg and Phil Hendrie, the presence of Hendrie may suggest the return of The Waterfalls

According to the DVD commentary of Bender's Big Score, the truth about the mysterious "Number 9 Man" (seen in season one and two and also Bender's Big Score) will be revealed, and he will be given a speaking role. There is also a mention that something may happen to the metals bender is composed of according to commentary of Bender's Big Score. The commentators also mention that there will be some golfing involved.

Since it is most likely this film is going to be released in 2009, it may just be released on the tenth anniversary of the series, which would be March 28. It has been confirmed for April 2009 in Europe, so this is very likely.

David X. Cohen released a tiny bit of plot detail, saying "It will have a real epic sci-fi story that involves this ancient battle that's been going on for billions of years and our crew of course ends up in the middle of that. It ends on a real sweet note and we'll be content with that if it's the last we ever do."

Of course, that won't be the only plot in it, as the other movies had additional plots.

The title is a take off of a lyric in the song of the U.S. Air Force.
