6ACV01 is the eighty-ninth episode of Futurama, the first of the sixth production season, the seventh broadcast season and the second run of Futurama.

Story

No information have been released about the content of the first episode, or season 6 for that matter, but a lot of speculation remains, especially considering the cliffhanger ending Into the Wild Green Yonder ended with.

While Matt Groening and David X. Cohen have explained they wanted to continue where they left off (see production section), fans are speculation about what is going to happen, and whether it is going to continue over more than one episode to wrap things up to a normal position for a regular season.

Further information: Season 6#Production

As the first episode of a new run, the production first and foremost focused on continuing from Into the Wild Green Yonder's cliffhanger ending. David X. Cohen explained in an early interview, before the confirmation was even near, that he did consider what to do with the position they ended in,[1] which Matt Groening called "painted [themselves] slightly into a corner".[2]

Now, sources continue to back up on this continuation with "the new episodes will pick up where [Into the Wild Green Yonder] took off -- with the main characters fleeing death and flying into the unknown",[3] giving new life to speculations about the content of this episode.
