Catherine Louise "Katey" Sagal is an American actress and singer who provides the voice of everybody's favorite cyclops, Turanga Leela. Before she got into acting, she got her start in the entertainment industry singing backup for the likes of Bob Dylan and Bette Midler. Prior to her work on Futurama, she was best known for her work on the long-running sitcom Married... with Children as Al Bundy's nagging, bon-bon-eating, Oprah-watching, sarcastic wife, Peggy Bundy (née Peggy Wanker). Matt Groening wanted to audition her for Futurama.[1]
More recently, Sagal is also known for her work as Gemma Teller Morrow on the FX biker drama Sons of Anarchy, a role for which she has won a Golden Globe. She has also released several solo albums, including The Room and Well....
In September 2014, Sagal earned a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame,[2] making her the second Futurama cast member to earn the award, after Matt Groening.
