Captain Musky is a former member of Professor Farnsworth's Planet Express crew who is completely paralyzed and as a result must rely on a large black box to move, communicate, and probably live. Nevertheless, Bender describes him as, out of all of the Professor's former crew members, "by far the most alive." He also has a horrible scar on the side of his face.

Trivia
- Captain Musky is a tribute to Star Trek's Captain Pike. Both of them are named for species of fish, and both were the captain prior to the current captain. Both were also horribly injured.
- David X. Cohen jokingly refers to the box that Musky's encased in, as the "Pike Box". This is also referenced in the commentary of Where No Fan Has Gone Before.
- The former captain in "The Sting" (4ACV12) on the black box could be Captain Musky, which explains his injuries. Though this is just speculation.
