Captain Musky is a former member of the Planet Express crew who is completely paralyzed and as a result must rely on a large black box to move, communicate, and probably live. Nevertheless, Bender describes him as, out of all of the Professor's former crew members, "by far the most alive". He also has a horrible scar on the side of his face.

Trivia
- Captain Musky is a tribute to Star Trek's Christopher Pike. The muskellunge is a species belonging to the pike genus of fish and commonly referred to as "muskies." Both Musky and Pike were former captains of the Planet Express ship and Enterprise, respectively. Both were also horribly injured.
- David X. Cohen jokingly refers to the box that Musky is encased in, as the "Pike Box". This is also referenced in the commentary for "Where No Fan Has Gone Before".
- The former captain in "The Sting" on the black box could be Captain Musky, which explains his injuries. Though this is just speculation.
