-Throughout the tour, [[Glurmo]] is very evasive about the nature of the secret ingredient. After exploring the factory's off-limits areas, the crew discovers that the drink is actually produced by a giant Slurm Worm, known as the [[Minor Characters#Slurm Queen|Slurm Queen]]. She secretes the Slurm through an orifice in the end of her tail, much the way bees secrete honey. In fact, this is so similar that Slurm Queens produce "Royal Slurm" much as queen bees can produce royal jelly, which, if eaten, changes a larval bee into a queen. This disgusting revelation leads [[Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth|the Professor]] to attempt to get the Slurm banned, but Fry is so addicted, that he foils this attempt, and continues drinking Slurm whenever possible.
