The Safety sphere is a type of bubble that protecs the body from any damage. It is seen in the first four minutes of the Animatic of the first episode of the sixth season Rebirth. When the Planet Express crew, Fry, Leela, Bender, Hermes, Wong, Zoidberg, the Professor, Scruffy, LaBarbara and Kif flys into the Panama Wormhole at the end of Into the Wild Green Yonder, the professor shows them what will protect them from the colision. He is the only who has a complete bubble covering all his body, while everyone else's only protect their heads. The ship crashes into the surface and is splated by the Nimbus. The professor survives because of the sphere, but the others (but Fry) keep their heads, and their bodies are skeletons.
