Ken Keeler is a writer for both the Simpsons and Futurama. He helped create Futurama and for the first three seasons was a co-executive producer and a executive producer for the final season. Ken also wrote songs for both shows including the song in the final episode. He happened to win a Writers Guild Award for the episode "Godfellas".
A character in the series, Ben Beeler, is based on Ken.
Keeler has a Ph D in Applied Mathematics, which has helped him make several nerdier jokes on the show (see 1729 for example).
