Alternate name proposal

I suggest "Official Nerdlinger Foundation" or something with "Nerdlinger" in it. Why? Because "Nerdlinger" refers to Futurama fans in the same way that "Trekkie" refers to Star Trek fans. Although, it sounds way less professional, and the original name is probably better, so nevermind, but I still think we should use the word Nerdlinger as much as possible. --Buddy 12:23, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

The problem with "Futurama Media Foundation" is that it sounds a bit too official. I propose based on your suggestion that we could do "Nerdlinger Media Foundation" instead. That way we keep a slight sense of professionalism, while avoiding using actually copyrighted names in our name. --SvipTalk 12:33, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

We have settled for "Futurama Media Foundation", mainly because we feel it is what sounds best, see fmf.theinfosphere.org. --SvipTalk 19:01, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

While I understand that it should have its own place, I wonder why it's a wiki. What will it house? For a network hub, a wiki seems like an odd choice. Also, have you looked into getting it its own domain name? the subdomain is fine, but if it grows, it may get cumbersome, just as "futurama.overt-ops.com" did when the Infosphere grew. --Buddy 23:00, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
