Eleanor Roosevelt was the wife of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the first lady of America. In the first universe, she died at 78 years of age. In the current universe, due to alterations in the Timeline, she died earlier, presumably sometime in the 1930s. Professor Farnsworth had invented a forward time machine that accidentally sent him along with Fry and Bender thousands of years into the future. The forward time travel allowed them to visit various periods of time. The Professor stopped the machine in the 20th century of the third universe to shoot Hitler, but missed and killed Roosevelt by mistake. (See an explanation of this with a picture.)
