    • If you have an idea for a major change that will help The Infosphere, suggest it over at the Conference Table.
  • If you want to create a new article, make sure that it doesn't already exist and that the article you've created is linked to from another article. Our article templates should help you out.

  • Remember to sign your posts to talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~). Alternatively, you can create a custom signature at User:Conradici/sig, and insert it by typing {{User:Conradici/sig}}, preferably followed by five tildes to insert the date. This can also be configured on the Special:Preferences page.

Look[edit]

I know you're new, but you really should learn the difference between blatant and trivial. For next time, keep in mind that adding "trivia" for the sake of adding it isn't very helpful--Icyweaner2999 15:26, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Wow. Thanks for that warm welcome. I'm fully aware of the difference between blatant and trivial, thank you very much. As someone pointed out, they hadn't noticed the moment under discussion; I thought the point of the Trivia section was to include interesting things that people might have missed, and I figured this might have been one. I don't know why it's riled you so much - it's only one entry, after all - that you've felt moved to write on my user page. Conradici 15:39, 9 August 2011 (CEST)
Wow. Thanks for the wonderful first impression. Just because people miss it doesn't mean it's notable. In fact, you just told me you posted it based on speculation. Just because it's one entry doesn't mean it should be there if it's not notable. It's like in "Plankton v. Krabs" when Mr. Krabs's eyes drop gold bars when he realized how cheap the lawyer was. What makes Bender's notable? --Icyweaner2999 15:43, 9 August 2011 (CEST)
Seriously, what? I post an item that I thought would fit into the trivia section of the article; maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. As you know, I'm new. You remove the entry, and I - politely - asked you why. The next thing I get is an offensively phrased message on my user page from you. "First impression", indeed. Thanks very much. Conradici 15:58, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

I answered why. Two times. First, in my summary, the second time was on the talkpage. You chose to ignore that, and I politely reminded you about notability in trivia. I carefully worded my message and there is no way it was offensive. Because I tried to be polite, once again, I get sarcasm from somebody who thinks they know everything about the wiki from just 1 trivia edit--Icyweaner2999 16:01, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Ok, this is going nowhere. If you genuinely can't see that going on a newbie's wall, starting a topic/sentence with the word "Look", going on to imply that they are stupid, and finishing off by being patronising, isn't likely to be taken by that person as offensive, then I really have no intention in continuing a conversation with you. I didn't argue with you about your change, but you wrote to me as if I had kicked up some sort of fuss.
I will think more carefully about any edits I make in the future; perhaps now we can leave it there. Conradici 16:19, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

In no way does that one word imply that you're stupid. It implies analysis and/or favors--Icyweaner2999 16:21, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Eh? Saying "you really should learn the difference between blatant and trivial" is an implication that I'm ignorant. Conradici 16:32, 9 August 2011 (CEST)
Anyway, can we just drop this now? Thanks. Conradici 16:34, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Icy, quit being a jerk, particularly towards new users. Conradici, please don't take his act as a representation of how the community is in general. We are overall very nice. - akitalk 16:56, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

I was trying to be polite. Aki, she said to drop it, and you brought it up again. You don't even respect her wishes, so why should she respect you?--Icyweaner2999 16:58, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Actually, I'm a "he". And, thanks Aki, I really appreciate it :) Conradici 17:02, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Oh, so you squash an attempt to explain things nicely, but you praise a bully?--Icyweaner2999 17:04, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Sorry, Icyweaner, but the one who has come across as a bully is you. Conradici 17:17, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Haha, I often see people mistaking a she for a he (I do it too, assuming all Internet geeks are male :p), but mistaking a he for a she is a much more seldom occurrence. Is it the name Conradici that is girllike somehow?
Icy, I just wanted to make sure that Conradici didn't get the wrong impression of the site. Who is right and who is wrong is less relevant, the main point is that we can discuss these things politely. - akitalk 17:20, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Explain how. I gave you a calm, non-threatening and POLITE explanation. Aki picked up a dropped conversation. So, explain again how I'm the bully?--Icyweaner2999 17:20, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

AAARGH. Icyweaner, I've told you already I considered your posting of an insulting admonishment on my user page, taking umbrage with me as if I had made a fuss when I hadn't, to be unnecessarily offensive and therefore bullying. We really do not need to have this argument again: clearly, we've got off on a bad foot. I hope that we can move on from this unpleasantness; if not, I really will have to leave this wiki.
Aki - Conradici's not my real name (it's Conrad; my surname in Italian is Radici so I combined the two) - does it sound girly, then?! Dammit! ("The Femzoil must be sashaying girlishly into my processor...") ;) Conradici 17:33, 9 August 2011 (CEST)
Don't consider leaving the wiki, Conradici. If Icy does continue acting out, he will get permabanned. If he gets nicer again, it's even better.
Don't worry, I didn't think you were a girl, that why I was so confused when Icy suddenly thought that. :P I think "Conradici" sounds pretty gender neutral. Aki however is a female name in its most common use, even though I'm a guy. :| - akitalk 17:36, 9 August 2011 (CEST)
