In the 31st century, robots, who are more advanced than in the 21st century, are used for entertainment purposes, work, cooking and cleaning, and companionship. In a thousand years, technology has progressed a lot. As a result, the world of Futurama is populated with an amazingly vast array of new gadgets, gizmos, and techniques. Some of them even work — some of the time.
