:What other than the name would be a reference? Cause other than that, it is quite an obscure reference and may just be a coincidence. Besides, his name is never spoken out as "H. G. Blob" on the show, so the joke wouldn't really exist. So I am very sceptical about the reference, and I just think it is a coincidence.
