Is it just me or?

I think it's more like the cartridges put certain thoughts into his mind that allow him to give the speeches. Case in point, the part where he says, "But Bender you are technology, you're the most technological thing on this island." I don't remember if that's the exact phrase, but he quite obviously was able to say benders name, and give a spur of the moment speech based on it, which would indicate he had some freedom in how he chose to "state the obvious."Anarchy Balsac 08:53, 18 February 2008 (PST)

Perhaps, but some of the tapes may actually be a complete sound bite, while others like the one you mentioned is also completely vague (I mean, "state the obvious" will always belong to a situation, right?), so I guess what you're saying is quite possible. --SvipTalk 10:25, 18 February 2008 (PST)
Yeah, it certainly seems so, I'll adjust it slightly.Anarchy Balsac 22:05, 7 March 2008 (PST)
Also, don't forget, this character only exists in Bender's imagination (or whatever...), so therefore he it doesn't have to be consistent. This begs the question though... If it doesn't exist, why then was the name "Cartrage Unit" on the Wheel of Robots? I have a longwinded and most-likely useless theory: Bender simply heared that there was such a thing as Cartrage Units and knew that they were obsolite, so therefore, when his subconcious (or whatever robot have...) needed an obsolite robot, it populated this imaginary island with representations of the Cartrage Unit. This actually makes sense, as Bender would have meager knowlege of previous models of robots (THAT explains the Cymbal Banging Monkey). As long as the makers of Futurama don't sneak ol' Carty into the background of one of the future films... Anyone following me?--Fatt Daddy Inc. 11:47, 10 September 2008 (BST)
My estimate would be that the Cartidge Unit is an actual robot that existed. And his styling and work is that we see in the episode, however, he is altered due to Bender's imagination. On the wheel of robots, it could just be a different Cartidge Unit. I always thought it was that simple. Your theory has too many elements to make it simple. --SvipTalk 12:24, 10 September 2008 (BST)
I see what you mean. That's actually the gist of what I meant, albeit with Bender aready knowing what the Cartrage Unit looks like. You're probably right, but we'll never know... --Fatt Daddy Inc. 02:56, 11 September 2008 (BST)
