Welcome!

Welcome to the Infosphere! We're glad to have you as a member. If you need any help, feel free to ask anyone on the welcoming committee. You can also post questions on the FAQ talk page.

New users must read the Help pages before creating a new page.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  • If you need general information, editing tips, or answers to frequently asked questions, check out the help page.
  • Before you do any significant editing, be sure to familiarize yourself with our wiki standards and our Manual of Style.
    • If you have an idea for a major change that will help The Infosphere, suggest it over at the Conference Table.
  • If you want to create a new article, make sure that it doesn't already exist and that the article you've created is linked to from another article. Our article templates should help you out.
  • If you're not sure what you can do to help out, head over to current events.
  • To practice editing, go over to the playground.
  • You can help decide what's on the Main Page by voting on Featured Articles or making new nominations.
  • You can also use "{{subst:UserpageTemplate}}" on your Userpage, if you wish to have a simple starting point. Additionally, you can make use of userboxes
  • Remember to sign your posts to talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~). Alternatively, you can create a custom signature at User:JediRogue/sig, and insert it by typing {{User:JediRogue/sig}}, preferably followed by five tildes to insert the date.
  • If you have a personal website (Futurama-centric or completely unrelated), feel free to add it to the Community Portal
  • Above all, be sure to be bold and have fun!

Feel free to delete this message when you're done reading it. After all, your user space belongs to you. I hope this information is helpful, and that you'll have a good experience contributing to our knowledge-base and our community.

Sincerely,
Quolnok, and "The Infosphere Welcoming Committee" 09:22, 27 December 2010 (CET)

Does the captcha on new page creation go away or is that just a permanent feature for everyone? Also, if you are going to explain how to do a custom sig, I would probably explain that you can set the preferences to substitute a template (or include but crowded talk pages with a ton of included sigs could get slow) before telling a person to use a template on their own. Its probably slightly easier on the new user. Finally, thanks for linking to your standards and style in the welcoming message. I always like to review those and lots of wikis forget to help new users find that stuff right off the bat. —JediRogue 03:15, 28 December 2010 (CET)
Yep, the captcha should go away after about three days of having registered if I remember correctly. I'm glad to hear that you're the kind of person who checks these things. - Quolnok 12:33, 28 December 2010 (CET)

Hey

Aren't you also on How I Met Your Mother Wiki? I think I saw you editing there the other day. San Saber 14:45, 29 December 2010 (CET)

Yes, that's me. As far as I know, I'm the only JediRogue in the wiki world and I show up everywhere—JediRogue 18:48, 29 December 2010 (CET)
Yay, How I Met Your Mother! Aki 21:00, 29 December 2010 (CET)
I suppose it's good to know The Infospherians know about TV shows other than Futurama. So, are you guys into HIMYM or HIMOM? San Saber 01:52, 30 December 2010 (CET)
HIMOM? BTW, if you like any of the templates and stuff over on the HIMYM wiki, I set them up and can do similar here if people are interested. I'd expect the Futurama audience to intersect more with the Big Bang Theory audience than the HIMYM audience lol. —JediRogue 03:59, 30 December 2010 (CET)
Or both, like me. :p Aki 22:01, 30 December 2010 (CET)
Never mind about HIMOM. It's a terrible joke. Regarding your offer, yeah, sure. I guess that'd be good. Just talk to administrators. (Aki's one, by the way.) San Saber 00:43, 31 December 2010 (CET)
What, HIMOM like... How I Met Our Mother? Was that it? :p About templates, JediRogue, cool, if there is anything you feel we could use, just ask in a new Conference Table topic. Aki 12:44, 31 December 2010 (CET)
