Welcome!

Welcome to the Infosphere! We're glad to have you as a member. If you need any help, feel free to ask anyone on the welcoming committee. You can also post questions on the FAQ talk page.

New users must read the Help pages before creating a new page.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  • If you need general information, editing tips, or answers to frequently asked questions, check out the help page.
  • Before you do any significant editing, be sure to familiarize yourself with our wiki standards and our Manual of Style.
    • If you have an idea for a major change that will help The Infosphere, suggest it over at the Conference Table.
  • If you want to create a new article, make sure that it doesn't already exist and that the article you've created is linked to from another article. Our article templates should help you out.
  • If you're not sure what you can do to help out, head over to current events.
  • To practice editing, go over to the playground.
  • You can help decide what's on the Main Page by voting on Featured Articles or making new nominations.
  • You can also use "{{subst:UserpageTemplate}}" on your Userpage, if you wish to have a simple starting point. Additionally, you can make use of userboxes
  • Remember to sign your posts to talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~). Alternatively, you can create a custom signature at User:Conradici/sig, and insert it by typing {{User:Conradici/sig}}, preferably followed by five tildes to insert the date. This can also be configured on the Special:Preferences page.
  • If you have a personal website (Futurama-centric or completely unrelated), feel free to add it to the Community Portal
  • Above all, be sure to be bold and have fun!

Feel free to delete this message when you're done reading it. After all, your user space belongs to you. I hope this information is helpful, and that you'll have a good experience contributing to our knowledge-base and our community.

Sincerely,
- akitalk, and "The Infosphere Welcoming Committee" 13:16, 8 August 2011 (CEST)

I know you're new, but you really should learn the difference between blatant and trivial. For next time, keep in mind that adding "trivia" for the sake of adding it isn't very helpful--Icyweaner2999 15:26, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Wow. Thanks for that warm welcome. I'm fully aware of the difference between blatant and trivial, thank you very much. As someone pointed out, they hadn't noticed the moment under discussion; I thought the point of the Trivia section was to include interesting things that people might have missed, and I figured this might have been one. I don't know why it's riled you so much - it's only one entry, after all - that you've felt moved to write on my user page. Conradici 15:39, 9 August 2011 (CEST)
Wow. Thanks for the wonderful first impression. Just because people miss it doesn't mean it's notable. In fact, you just told me you posted it based on speculation. Just because it's one entry doesn't mean it should be there if it's not notable. It's like in "Plankton v. Krabs" when Mr. Krabs's eyes drop gold bars when he realized how cheap the lawyer was. What makes Bender's notable? --Icyweaner2999 15:43, 9 August 2011 (CEST)
Seriously, what? I post an item that I thought would fit into the trivia section of the article; maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. As you know, I'm new. You remove the entry, and I - politely - asked you why. The next thing I get is an offensively phrased message on my user page from you. "First impression", indeed. Thanks very much.
