Question...

I'm constantly being blocked for editing stuff. I'm wondering why? All my changes are relavent and correct. Please reply. Holy Sock

Thanks for the welcome

I've recently come to know the greatness of Futurama and have all the dvd's. I'm glad to see they are coming back, but hope they don't stink. I may contribute here every once in a while, but I'm mainly on English Wiki. You know I've often thought that wikipedia will become like the Infosphere... Thanks again. --WillMak050389 13:39, 1 July 2006 (PDT)

"Borrowed Images"

There is an image called OldNY.jpg and it is off of the Wikia Futurama Wiki. Though, it is needed for the Past-O-Rama article. Is this okay? User:Bender Bending Rodríguez/sig

We need to create a tag to add to images that need replacement. We prefer it if the members here capture the screenshots themselves. If you cannot do this, the preferred thing to do is use the AwaitingScreenie image. The use of this image makes it easier to track down needed images. Images being borrowed from other sites just opens us up to more liability. We're already in somewhat of a grey area just using so many screenshots in the first place, but we want it to be as legit as possible (i.e., illustrative, informative images only). As such, I'm proposing that we create a "this image needs to be replaced" template to add to borrowed images and images of low quality (either too small, or bad JPEG artefacting). I'll get to that in a minute. I actually have some net time, so I can do crap for once. Buddy 20:56, 24 December 2006 (PST)

Font

When will the AL1 Font thing you put on Quolnok's talk page be ready? --Bender Bending Rodríguez 18:50, 2 December 2006 (PST)

How?

How do you make images by yourself? --Bender Bending Rodríguez 18:57, 2 December 2006 (PST)

Pay?

To install a Wiki, do you have to pay for the plan? User:Bender Bending Rodríguez/sig

Yes, you have to have a domain hosted somewhere. You can't put a wiki on nothing. YOu must have a website. This costs money. But yet another Futurama wiki is so unneeded. Buddy 22:08, 24 December 2006 (PST)

Logos

Do you have any idea of how to change logos on wikis without uploading an image called "Wiki.png"? --Electricbolt 13:34, 23 December 2006 (PST)

You could change the code, but it's easier just to replace the image. Buddy 15:27, 23 December 2006 (PST)

How do you change the code? Where do you find the code? --Electricbolt 15:10, 24 December 2006 (PST)

I don't know, I did it the image-replacing way. It's in one of the PHP templates somewhere. Possibly index.php.

Then how do you replace the image, because the ATHF wiki I created won't do anything else. --Electricbolt 14:05, 25 December 2006 (PST)

Surely your wiki has help pages? If it's MediaWiki software, there's tons of help available. Buddy 14:43, 25 December 2006 (PST)

Yes, the site is MediaWiki. You can visit it if you want to, you should see the header for it! This is the link: http://athf.wiki-site.com. You like the header? --Electricbolt 16:35, 25 December 2006 (PST)

Finding Logos

Where can you find logos? Such as, if your wiki site name is "Wikifuturama", where can you find a logo wiki "Wikifuturama" written on it? --Electricbolt 18:51, 24 December 2006 (PST)

I didn't find the logo, I created it in photoshop. I used the Dungeon font for "The Infosphere", and two Futurama fonts for the "A Futurama" and "Wiki". Then I created a radial gradient (the noise-type, not the normal type) for the background, based on the light rays from the opening sequence (I don't think it's right, but it's good enough), and a snipped-out Infosphere from that episode, and combined them into the image you see there. I'd offer my services, but one wiki is enough. Why start another? Doesn't that make five now? Buddy13 FW16.png 20:49, 24 December 2006 (PST)

Yes, I was just giving an example on "Wikifuturama", I have just recently created an Aqua Teen Hunger Force wiki. Do you know what that show is? It's worse than Futurama when it comes to language, and Futurama isn't as bad as The Simpsons. --Electricbolt 14:01, 25 December 2006 (PST)

Yes, I know what ATHF is. Photoshop is your friend. Buddy 14:38, 25 December 2006 (PST)

Photoshop

Will any Photoshop do? I have Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition. --Electricbolt 13:49, 26 December 2006 (PST)

As long as you can create images in it. Prefered web formats are JPG, GIF, and PNG. If you can save in one of those, you'll be fine. Buddy 09:33, 27 December 2006 (PST)
The only ones I am able to put on there is JPEG and BMP. What kind of Photoshop do you use? --Electricbolt 12:06, 29 December 2006 (PST)
How do you take screenshots on a DVD? --Electricbolt 18:07, 29 December 2006 (PST)
JPEG and JPG are essentially the same thing. For screenshots first you need a DVD drive in your computer, then you need DVD software that either doesn't use hardware accelleration or has a built in screenshot button. I use "Nero ShowTime", then paste the images into Paint (because it starts 60x faster than Photoshop). - Quolnok 18:27, 29 December 2006 (PST)
Only 60? --Buddy 09:03, 30 December 2006 (PST)
Seconds v minutes. Although it probably is a larger number; 120 or 180 perhaps. - Quolnok 17:33, 30 December 2006 (PST)

Acts for Bendin' in the Wind

Can you tell be the scene selections to Bendin' in the Wind? Because I would like to write that article. --Electricbolt 18:50, 30 December 2006 (PST)

I'll go ahead and answer this one, "This thing can't go fater than 80,000 miles per hour?", "We can't just dump him in the gutter like Grandma's ashes", "My shell ran", "I didn't get my beads" and "Put the metal to the pedal to the other metal". Enjoy, and don't forget to use the template. Now I'm off to do A Leela of Her Own, unsuspiciously located on the same disc. - Quolnok 20:53, 30 December 2006 (PST)

Thank you for answering this one. I don't have Volume 3 or neither do I have Volume 4. --Electricbolt 10:58, 31 December 2006 (PST)

Acts on other wikis

Is it okay if I use the Acts thing on the DVDs when I use spoilers on my wiki, here? --Electricbolt 11:47, 7 January 2007 (PST)
