Description

Thermostadt is a picturesque, yet morbid city in the Robo-Hungarian Empire. It's entirely populated by mostly robots that were programmed to be supersticious and Bender's uncle Vladimir.

Stadt is the german word for city. Therefore Thermostadt is a wordplay with Robo-Hungarian Empire and Thermostat. The setting of the Robo-Hungarian Empire refers to the 19th century were Hungary was part of the Austria-Hungary Empire, were the official language was german.
