Thermostadt is a picturesque, yet morbid city and the capital of the Robo-Hungarian Empire. It's entirely populated by mostly robots that were programmed to be superstitious and Bender's uncle Vladimir.

- Stadt is the German word for city. Therefore Thermostadt is a wordplay with Robo-Hungarian Empire and Thermostat. The setting of the Robo-Hungarian Empire refers to the 19th century when Hungary, Austria, and other nations comprised the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
