Change output

The current output of this template really disturbs sentences - see for example the Pine tree article. I'm not that into WikiMedia programming which is the main reason I don't just fix it myself. Also, I have two different suggestions on how to use this template in the future:

  1. As today, but the output is changed to not exceed the general height of the sentence.
  2. As a notation system, like today's references. Seeing as I'm not that into WikiMedia programming I don't know if this could easily be done, but it seems to me that it should be easy to incorporate it into the references. {{ein|6ACV13}} -> <ref>{{e|6ACV13}}</ref>

I don't like suggestion 2. It'd just complicate it for us. And the references don't look that good either. But I do agree with suggestion 1, even though I prefer the (6ACV13) alternative, which is much simpler and has been used for a long time, over this template. We could also choose Template:Es, which does the same as the one I like, but I don't see many people using it. "I still think this whole thing is against nature." Solution to both the problems! I have created the template {{Et}}, which is the same as {{Es}} but with the brackets (i.e. forming (6ACV13)). This can be used when reffering to an episode in a quite obvious way:
Leela was forced to live in the sewer a while back (6ACV12)).
When referencing to an episode a little more discrete, however, one can use <ref>{{e|6ACV12}}</ref> so that the flow isn't disrupted. When using this the article must have a == References == <references /> at the end, but most bigger articles already do. Example:
The Professor is inspired by, among others, Braino.[1].
