Title

I was wondering whither the title was "Into the Wild Green Yonder" or "Into the Wild, Green Yonder". Wikipedia says the former, we say the latter. Do we have an confirmation on this? Even IMDb says what Wikipedia says, shall we rename it then? --SvipTalk 11:07, 10 January 2008 (PST)

What's a comma between friends? Actually, it probably shouldn't be there, CGEF doesn't have the comma either. - Quolnok 18:07, 10 January 2008 (PST)
I'll move it then. --SvipTalk 18:08, 10 January 2008 (PST)

Plot Speculation

Nothing to add to the main article yet, but is it just me, or does it seem this whole movie's plot and subplots will be mocking the Iraq war? Like think about it, the war that's been going on for billions of years parallels the middle-eastern violence which has been going on for hundreds, the number 9 man is revealed in the BBS commentary to be the "grand curator" of something, indicating he may easily parallel Bush, Saddam, or Osama, and then there's the part about the metals in Bender's body. I don't believe the conspiracy theories about Iraq being about oil(if it were we'd have it by now) but it seems that the planet express crew may be getting involved in this war for said metals, paralleling the oil conspiracy theories.

Thoughts?Anarchy Balsac 22:34, 16 February 2008 (PST)

That would seem plausible. However, it is also plausible that we are completely wrong suggesting that, of course, like you say, it is still just plot speculation. But I am entirely sure myself whether we should put it in the article. --SvipTalk 01:06, 17 February 2008 (PST)
Well yeah, nothing to add to the article just yet, but I did want to say that so it could be on record if and when it turns out to be the actual plot. It'll be sweet saying I completely guessed the plot with minimal info.Anarchy Balsac 09:26, 17 February 2008 (PST)
Makes sense, it all fits. Go Bender Kid 22:38, 28 July 2008 (CEST)
Given the Futurama Crew's past environmental and political leanings (i.e., the frequent collaboration/links with Al Gore), I wouldn't put it past them to make a movie with a political message. But I hope they do it tastefully and in a way that won't offend people who don't agree. Because I personally hate celebrities who use their public image to push a political agenda (especially when said celebrities know very little on the subject they're supporting). But they've done fine in the past, and I think they'll do fine this time. --Buddy 01:24, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, maybe replace the metals in Bender's body with new "green" fuels. But yeah I hope they don't ruin it like that. Suffice it to say if they think their "carbon neutral" packing is saving the environment, they do not know what they're talking about on this subject.Anarchy Balsac 19:20, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I always thought the whole point of the green movement was that we could keep things of the same quality and just change our methods of production or some such, instead they're making things crappier and they wonder why people don't flock to their ways. --Buddy 04:11, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I think they know. Which is why they expect a new car created in California, which runs on hydrogen, but acts like an ordinary car to actually change that. Obviously, it won't happen any time soon, but like the car itself, it is only a matter of time. And honestly, I fail to see how you can be carbon neutral and not make a good DVD cover! --SvipTalk 12:44, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

European release date (and others)

Wow, the European release dates is revealed as 23 February, yet says April is confirmed. Can we get some confirmation and some specific statements, and not this confusing stuff? Some sources please! --SvipTalk 20:26, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Seconded, a lot of info without sourcing on this page. Not that it isn't true, but it needs to be verified.Anarchy Balsac 01:00, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Green?! I just got that!

I just figured out the title! Now that they have no Dark Matter, they'll have to have "green" fuels! Haha! The quote from bluray.com is what made it click for me. And it would be in keeping with Futurama's previous environmentalist-type episodes (and association with Mr. Gore). Course, I could just be nuts... --Buddy 01:30, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

That makes perfect sense, but I still don't get the secret society with the Number 9 Man. Chris of the Futurama 01:57, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Melting Bender

I'm fairly sure that was a joke by Ken Keeler on the BBS commentary, not an actual spoiler. That's why people were laughing during those few sentences. -Mini-Me 23:41, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Possibly, but we have also added it as "speculation", so it may vanish upon release! But it is also likely that the joke with Bender melting in the film is such an awesome joke, they just laughed thinking of it. Or they just laugh for no apparent reason. O_O Did I tell you humans are crazy?! --SvipTalk 23:53, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Stu(pid)-Ray?

Why is the main image the blu-ray version? Is there no regular version available? I mean, I'm not saying we shouldn't maybe have a blu-ray version, but it's far from standard yet (and it lessens the area of the actual cover art), so if there's a cleaner version, we should use it for the main image, and maybe put the blu-ray somewhere lower, if necessary. P.S., I hate Sony. --Buddy 23:18, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

I should really read around before I say crap. Yes, I see what you put on the image itself. Awesome. I hope we can ditch it soon! Then we can all ditch the format as a whole! Muahahaa! --Buddy 23:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, Buddy, if I made you spill coffee when you saw that. But it was the only one available. Hopefully, we will have a clean version soon. Oh, and I don't mind the poor quality. It is after all a Blu-Ray cover. Can't you smell the sweet irony? --SvipTalk 23:51, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Yay, no more blu-ray! *scuttles away* --Buddy 13:42, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Is that a...Dodo?

Is it just me or are there Dodo birds on the DVD? and if so, maybe we should put it in the plot maybe? Chris of the Futurama 23:33, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Unless I'm mistaken, there's a Dodo and a single-horned, bipedal dinosaur with part of its egg. Dinosaurs are no longer extinct in the 31st century, so perhaps the same is true of the Dodo. This however is likely some reference to extinction. - Quolnok 12:22, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Or DE-extinction! --Buddy 13:36, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Maybe coming from that planet in the centre of the DVD...? Chris of the Futurama 02:19, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

"All" characters

A photo of the interview and screenshot

There's an interview with DXC in the February issue of ToyFare. There's a large spread showing a screenshot of the scene with a great number of the secondary and tertiary characters (in fact, this scene will probably make many tertiaries into secondaries (which may make us want to rethink status classification (again))). I could reprint some of the text of the interview if anyone's interested, but going to the magazine's website (wizarduniverse.com) might yield better results. Or it may be reprinted somewhere else. If indeed nobody else has it, I could be persuaded to transcribe it. It's actually fairly short, so it wouldn't be too much work. Anyway, I can name about 90% of the characters, and most of the ones I can't name are either new for the fourth movie (there's a group to the right wearing tinfoil hats) or generic characters that haven't, in fact, appeared before. Even Flexo's there, fully repaired from the incident with the girder... --Buddy 01:01, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
