::H.G. is definitely a character, especially given he has a son. We have identified several other Blobs as separate characters. There may be others we assumed to be him and need to be taken out of his article, but I'd say the only real possiblity is the Future Stock Blob. I like the idea that after being sacked by the plant he became a stockbroker though. - [[User:Quolnok|Quolnok]] 19:10, 12 June 2008 (PDT)

Horrible Gelatinous Blob

The "Horrible Gelatinous Blob" article has been labelled the following levels:

This article is thoroughly developed.
No focus level has been assigned.

Are you sure that's him in BitW? --Buddy 18:48, 6 January 2007 (PST)

H. G.

I know that the H. G. in H. G. Blob stands for Horrible Gelatinous, but I was thinking that it could be a tribute to H. G. Wells, the author of The War of the Worlds. Does anybody share my opinion? Ketchuphed

What other than the name would be a reference? Cause other than that, it is quite an obscure reference and may just be a coincidence. Besides, his name is never spoken out as "H. G. Blob" on the show, so the joke wouldn't really exist. So I am very sceptical about the reference, and I just think it is a coincidence. If it was a reference, they would have made more out of it for sure. --SvipTalk 17:38, 12 May 2008 (PDT)
Interesting if true. There was mention of Wells in a commentary I believe, but I'm fairly sure it was in reference to time travel or robots. "H. G. Blob" did appear written on either a package and/or a name plaque on his desk in the PE advert. - Quolnok 19:32, 12 May 2008 (PDT)

Species, rather than a character?

Is it possible that the Horrible Gelatinous Blob may in fact be a species rather than a single character? --Ben Paddon 13:22, 12 June 2008 (PDT)

See Blobs for that. HGB is considered a character. --SvipTalk 14:32, 12 June 2008 (PDT)
H.G. is definitely a character, especially given he has a son. We have identified several other Blobs as separate characters. There may be others we assumed to be him and need to be taken out of his article, but I'd say the only real possiblity is the Future Stock Blob. I like the idea that after being sacked by the plant he became a stockbroker though. - Quolnok 19:10, 12 June 2008 (PDT)

Trivia

I think the trivia shouldn't include info on the species just the char. Sir Mr. Dr. Professor FutureFan 07:23, 13 May 2010 (CEST)

I see your point, and I am sure the trivia section was added before we had a blobs article. This wiki have grown over the years; and changed policy too. But I would advice any editors to use the summary if they make an edit that might not be obvious, especially if deleting perfectly good text. Even if the text is in the wrong place, your reasoning may not be as obvious as you yourself think. But you may remove it again. --Sviptalk 02:01, 14 May 2010 (CEST)
