In the [[Help:Editing|help page for editing]] it says that to write common symbols and math symnols one has to write "&---;" (e.g. <nowiki>¢</nowiki> = ¢) but I've seen pages where there are symbols written exactly as they look in the finished page inside this box without using "&" (Do you understand?) Look here: [[Loew's ℵ0-Plex]] (math symbol), [[Talk:Philip J. Fry]] (Chinese symbols) and [[Channel √2 News]] (math symol). Click "edit" in all of them and you'll see the symbols without using the "&" method. How do you do that? {{User:TheFry/sig}}15:40, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

:# Either you have a keyboard that supports those keys out of the box.

In the help page for editing it says that to write common symbols and math symnols one has to write "&---;" (e.g. ¢ = ¢) but I've seen pages where there are symbols written exactly as they look in the finished page inside this box without using "&" (Do you understand?) Look here: Loew's ℵ0-Plex (math symbol), Talk:Philip J. Fry (Chinese symbols) and Channel √2 News (math symol). Click "edit" in all of them and you'll see the symbols without using the "&" method. Two ways:
 1. Either you have a keyboard that supports those keys out of the box.
 2. Or you copy them from somewhere. For instance, the very symbols you just created with the HTML entity syntax can then be copied from the final result and be pasted into the edit box.
