Discussion

Judging from this and this thread on PEEL and FMMB, respectively, it would seem that season 7 will be the last Futurama season. However, this is the Infosphere, and we only go by official statements and things in the press.

So this is merely a pre-emptive thread before someone decides to update the Main Page with news of Futurama's likely cancellation. As seen in the PEEL thread, Eric Rogers is rather avoiding the question of whether Futurama is cancelled or not and has merely stated an announcement about the show's future will come soon. I assume it is his contract that forbids him from revealing anything at the moment. But given his tone (and the evidence in the FMMB thread), it seems likely the announcement will not carry good news.

However - and I must stress this - it is incredibly rare that the cancellation of a show/programme is announced. Usually - as it was when Futurama was cancelled originally - no new episodes are ordered, and eventually, the show runners can speak out and say, 'yes, the show was cancelled'. So the fact that there will be an announcement gives me a sense of hope.

Anyway, before the actual announcement, there will be no article discussing it on the Infosphere. Because we do not yet know its content and - like I said - there may be more to the announcement than we presume. --Sviptalk 10:41, 17 March 2013 (CET)
