Discussion

The show will celebrate its fourteenth birthday tomorrow. I think this is an appropriate time for us to inaugurate a whole new section in the main page, the anniversaries section. We can start with air dates and release dates of episodes, films, comics, and box sets. Fans would check back every day to know which episode they should watch. We can also take a few anniversaries from the news archive. (One more possibility is in-universe events.)

What's the general opinion?

See the talk page for the raw material. Sanfazer (talk) 02:52, 28 March 2013 (CET).

Although we're good to go if one more admin says yes, I'd like to make sure none of the three left have any objections or suggestions before I go on a 365-page rampage. Sanfazer (talk) 16:29, 28 March 2013 (CET).

366 plus bonus, actually. Sanfazer (talk) 16:34, 28 March 2013 (CET).

The talk page seems to be cluttered with dates, will it look like that on the Main Page? I am a bit confused. But 14 seems like an odd number, 10 or 15 seems more appropriate. But I won't hackle over years, merely on how the Main Page will look. --Sviptalk 23:54, 28 March 2013 (CET)
Which of the talk page's sections are you talking about?
There's a section for how the main page will look. Sanfazer (talk) 00:30, 29 March 2013 (CET).
The example seems rather strange; isn't it supposed to be 'on this day'? --Sviptalk 01:00, 29 March 2013 (CET)
Because of Wikipedia? Yeah. I guess. I just think it looks better this way. What do you think? Sanfazer (talk) 01:04, 29 March 2013 (CET).
The way it looks now is just incredibly confusing. --Sviptalk 01:27, 29 March 2013 (CET)
Come to think of it; why not change it from the silly 'anniversaries' title (as pretending something is going on) to the more accurate but perhaps more bland 'on this day in Futurama'? Anniversaries of this sort is usually only 'celebrated' at significant years. --Sviptalk 01:29, 29 March 2013 (CET)
What do you mean? And what do you mean by "cluttered with dates" and "14"? Sanfazer (talk) 01:30, 29 March 2013 (CET).
I thought the stuff below the Main Page was part of it. --Sviptalk 01:36, 29 March 2013 (CET)
I disagree with significant years, but I like that title. (Hadn't seen your second paragraph.) Sanfazer (talk) 01:32, 29 March 2013 (CET).
I will support it if it is called 'On this day in Futurama'. --Sviptalk 01:36, 29 March 2013 (CET)
So I have your vote? Sanfazer (talk) 01:37, 29 March 2013 (CET).
Yes, but make sure that if nothing has happened on a given day, make the entire section disappear all together, rather than write 'nothing happened today'. --Sviptalk 01:40, 29 March 2013 (CET)
I don't know how to do that. Sanfazer (talk) 01:41, 29 March 2013 (CET).
Just check on whether the day's article exists with {{#ifexist}}. See MediaWiki's help page for more information. --Sviptalk 01:44, 29 March 2013 (CET)
Okay, but I think that having a section that appears and disappears is a little strange... or is it super cool and original?
I don't think it is. I think a section that is empty on some days is worse than a section that appears and disappears. --Sviptalk 01:53, 29 March 2013 (CET)

That does make more sense.
What about the word "anniversaries"? Sanfazer (talk) 01:58, 29 March 2013 (CET).

Ballot

Okay. Alright. I don't think so.
