The Story

Act I

Morbo and Kent Brockman simultaneously report on the sudden appearance of Springfielders in New New York. Bender and Fry watch the events happening outside the window on the TV, failing to acknowledge that they are no longer watching TV when Professor Frink flies through the window and Smitty and URL kick down the door to arrest him. Professor Farnsworth informs his staff that he had been at a meeting where scientists were attempting to gain funding from the city. After Wernstrom causes him to destroy his invention, Farnsworth quickly invents a device to harness the power of the fictional world of the comic that had been stuck to his slipper. Unfortunately it makes to big a tear and the room is filled with characters from The Simpsons. Thinking quickly, he suggests using them for slave labour, so the Mayor had the police round them up. The Simpsons themselves escaped and when Lisa recognised the Planet Express building as the place where the crew worked, they headed inside to hide. When the peace officers return Fry claims they are simply life size action figures. Hermes arrives to send the crew on their next delivery, and the Simpsons tag along.

Act II

Meanwhile in New New York, the Springfield Mafia become the Robot Mafia’s maid men, Moe works in O'Zorgnax Pub, Mr. Burns and Mom fall in love, Apu works at 7¹¹, Gil works with Malfunctioning Eddie and the rest of Springfield work for DOOP, with Smithers' experience with velour leading to a role as Chief Petty Laundry Officer and the others being classed as cannon fodder. Bart annoys Farnsworth, by looking through his inventions in the lab and turns the literary reality-tearing machine on, then the knob falls off. Bender "saves the day" and throws it in the New New York Public Library bringing characters from every book ever written into reality...
