The single non-local metaparticle is the matter that links all dark matter and made it possible to use pieces of it as fuel.

In an ill-conceived attempt to create a more durable harpsichord wax Professor Farnsworth put several dark matter (then useless) pieces in a particle accelerator, and because of quantum physics he generated two crystals, the single non-local metaparticle and the anti-backwards crystal. Because all dark matter is linked through the single non-local metaparticle it made all dark matter usable as fuel. When the Professor showed the particle to Mom she stole it, fired him and went to make billions off his invention by creating the dark matter fuel market which became the main fuel of the universe. Years later the Professor set out to destroy the crystal in revenge of his stolen invention with the anti-backwards crystal, and after an adventure in an altered reality he finally destroys the particle with the help of his son making all dark matter useless again.

Trivia

  • When the Professor put the anti-backwards energy crystal close enough to the metaparticle it made a reaction on all dark matter and through Bender's imagination created Cornwood.
  • The metaparticle is an icosahedron (a 20-sided polyhedron). Just like the anti-backwards crystal resembles a 12-sided die, the metaparticle resembles a 20-sided die.
