Fry's Birthdate
|type=p
I got his birthdate off of Wikipedia. And several other people list his birthdate as being in 1974. Is there any evidence to support this? In the original script, he states that he was conceived during Nixon's resignation speech, which occured on August 9, 1974, which would place his birth nine months later, sometime in May, 1975. I know the original script isn't really official, but if no contradicting evidence made it into any episodes, I think we can take it as such.

Philip J. Fry is the main protagonist and character of Futurama. In the future, Fry (as he is referred to in the show) is the first class delivery boy of Planet Express, which his nephew owns.  Before being employed by Planet Express in the year 3000 he had worked for Panucci's Pizza during the late 20th century. On New Year's Eve 1999 he was cryogenically frozen by accident while on delivery. The cryochamber timer was set at 1000 years; hence Fry woke to the last moments of the year 2999.

Description
:Wikipedia listed his birthdate as August 9 1975, but there's no justification given so I just reverted it. There's a general discussion about his age on wikipedia which is pretty funny.

:One possible way of finding an exact date is that in Luck of the Fryrish, opening scene, the announcer says: "And Grote leans into the pitch. It hits him! The Mets win!" Jerry Grote was in the Mets from 66 to 77. So it's possible there's an actual game where Jerry Grote took a ball for the win in the last inning. That would be a nice gift from the writers.  Sbwoodside 04:30, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Philip J. Fry shares the curse of Matt Groening's other main character, Homer J. Simpson, namely: that of being very stupid.  They also share the mysterious middle 'J'-initial.  This is where the similarities stop, however. The character of Fry is largely an attempt by the show's creators to make the connection between the 20th century and the 31st century a lot easier for the viewers.  Often, Fry will be faced with differences in the future, which he then relates to things in his timeAs a result, he frequently has to defend the actions of the 20th and 21st century.
::I'm afraid I know too little about baseball, but maybe this page can help? Alternatively, have a look around here, but I am not sure how to read the page. --SvipTalk 07:02, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Although he is stupid, Fry does occasionally come up with brilliant schemes to save the day. This ability possibly comes from his intense love of Star Trek.  Fry, rivalled only by the energy being of Melllvar, has the largest encyclopaedic knowledge of Star Trek in the future.
There is no game where grote wins by leaning into the pitch and getting hit. i know its a shame it would be nice to figure out when his birthday was but, then again its one of life's greatest mysteries.

Despite being lazy, Fry's heart is in the right place, and when the situation calls for it, he will rise up to formulate a plan to save his friends, even if the plan itself is fairly unpractical and/or stupid.  Fry cares about his friends, and in spite of Bender's awful treatment of him at times, he is still willing at risking his life to save him.
Fry As His Own Grandfather
Fry is in love with his co-worker and friend, Turanga Leela, and tries to impress herUnfortunately for him, though, the relationship progresses slowly.
I was thinking this out one day and I realized that Enos is His mother's father.  The reason bing is that in one episode, Fry's father, Yancy, said that every first born Fry names his first born son Yancy.  Just a thought.
--Fallettus 10:57, 22 February 2007 (PST)Someguy564
:This has been discussed many times in many places, including here. Yancy says "my grandfather and his father and so on"--he never mentions his father. Enos is his father. Fry's mother's hair looks like Enos', though, so it may be revealed in later episodes that Fry went further back in time and created the Fry line in the first place. Or something. See Fry Family Tree and its talk page. --Buddy 12:52, 22 February 2007 (PST)
But why is it he his father's father?  What makes us so sure of that?--Fallettus 12:32, 26 February 2007 (PST)
:Well, technically, the only proof is the sketch of Enos Fry. As per the discussion here, we know Enos is a Fry also our Fry speaks to his Dad in Enos' crotch. We therefore assume the slightly less disgusting. Enos is the falsified father of Yancy.<br/>Wait why did I say "slightly less disgusting"? If Minute Man is ancestral to Our Fry's mother and he confused his grandparents (in fact fathering his mother) and Enos is a Fry, then at some point Fry's parents either were or believed they were cousins. Actually, the cousin idea may explain the hair similarity. - Quolnok 02:59, 27 February 2007 (PST)
::Convolution ahoy! -- 08:17, 27 February 2007 (PST)
I fail to see any evidence of a connection to Fry's mother in any of Fry's paternal gene pool. Though she does have similar hair we seem to forget that she is also a cartoon - why not discuss the likely hood of the animator giving her the hair style to show family resemblance? Quolnok - how does Fry talking to Enos' crutch amount to any evidence that Enos took part in conception? Robot Elder
:It's all very simple.  Enos' father's (most likely) name was Yancy Fry.  Enos was in love with Mildred.  Fry goes back in time and kills Enos and becomes his own grandpa.  Since Fry's soon disappearance through time again, it is most likely that Mildred made up the story about Enos (who as we can see was a real person) was Yancy, Sr.'s father (we know it must be Yancy's father and not Fry's mother's father, since Fry "knows" that Enos is his father's father (as he mentions his dad when he talks to Enos' crotch)).  Additional, it would not make sense for "Minute Man" Fry to be Fry's mother's ancestral, because he is mentioned by Yancy clearly to indicate his line.  The similarity between Yancy and Fry's mother may be purely for the sake of making them look like a family from an artistic viewOften people look for people who look like them.  --SvipTalk 18:59, 3 April 2008 (PDT)

Biography
Fry's Age
Early years
Fry's past

Philip J. Fry was born in 1974, somewhere in Old New York; the second son of honest hard working Americans. During his formative years, Fry endured a great sibling rivalry with his older brother, Yancy.  Yancy constantly stole his ideas and, shortly after Fry was born, even wanted his younger brother's nameFry also spent of a lot of time playing video games and watching Star Trek.  He was never admitted to public school because his parents felt it would be a waste of taxpayer's money.
In the episode "Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles", everyone (including Fry) goes in the Fountain of Aging. The Professer says that he is even older than before. So is it not possible, nay, probable that everyone is a slightly different age than before? How likely is it that when each person jumped into the fountain, they all come out the same age as before? Not very likely, I assume. So can we really be sure of anyone's real age? - Ziekerz
:We know that, unlike other cartoons, the characters age as years progress. The best we can do is take known ages and add one after the year of the episode ends. Although we probably should add a bit to all characters with known ages pages noting the source for the information. You are right though, we don't know how much the fountain aged them. - Quolnok 19:09, 10 August 2007 (PDT)
:Maybe, ZiekerzBut how is likely is most of the things on the show?  This is not a serious TV show.  Well... not much TV is serious.  But you know what I mean.  You better accept that the writers on this show has a range of ... freedom.  And besides, their time in the fountain wouldn't have changed their technically age. --SvipTalk 20:38, 10 August 2007 (PDT)

Fry never made a success of himself, and during his twenties (or late teenage years) he got a job at Panucci's Pizza as a pizza delivery boy.  While working for Mr. Panucci, he met up with Michelle and they began a relationship. On a delivery in 1997, he meets up with Seymour Asses, a dog he names after the addressee of the prank caller who ordered the delivery.  Seymour becomes his best friend.
:You do have a point Svip, however keep in mind that while the Futurama staff doesn't do this perfectly, they do conform to continuity and the laws of science more than almost all other TV shows and movies.Anarchy Balsac 09:06, 1 February 2008 (PST)

On the fateful night of New Year's Eve, 1999, Fry is sent on another prank delivery to I. C. Wiener.  When he arrives at the destination, Applied Cryogenics, he realizes that it is a prank, but since he won't not make it back to Panucci's before midnight, he decides to celebrate the New Year where he is. Then, while leaning his chair too far backwards, he falls into a cryogenics tube, which closes and freezes him for a thousand years.

On New Year's Eve, 2999, the tube's timer finishes and Fry wakes up again. He is not at all sad about leaving his old life behind, and actually happy and relieved that it is all now behind him. He meets Leela who is employed by the Cryogenics Labs to assign unfrozen people to jobs. She tells Fry that he has only one living relative: Professor Farnsworth.  Leela then tells Fry that the job that has been assigned to him is that of Delivery Boy. Faced with a return to the life of drudgery he knews in 1999, Fry flees.  While running around New New York, he enters a suicide booth (having mistaken it for a phone booth) and tries to contact his nephew.

Like wikipedia with the long character articles we could split them up into different sections like for Fry, Early Life, Discovering the Future (mainly season one), and others about seasons 2,3,4 and when it comes out the movies. Also we could include other sections like on his romantic interests - <span style="font-family:Dungeon,Andy,cursive;color:#ddf;"> <span style="color:black;">Humorbot 0.4</span></span> 08:51, 13 September 2007 (PDT)

Fry meets a robot named Bender in the Suicide Booth and, after narrowly avoiding death, they grab a drink togetherAfter a couple of beers, Bender decides to leave to re-attempt suicide, but Fry convinces him to stay by saying that he has always wanted a robot for a friend (or at least ever since he was six).  Leela is still on his trail, though, after being forced by her boss, Ipgee, to pursue Fry and force him to accept the career chip.

Leela follows Fry and Bender into the Head Museum and the ruins of Old New York, before finally catching up with them. To Fry's surprise, though, she decides to quit her job instead of forcing the job of delivery on him.  Fry suggests they go to his nephew, Professor Farnsworth, to see if he can help. After confirming that he and Fry are related, the Professor decides to hire them as a replacement for his old crew.
Speaking of family, I was just thinking of something. I'm still new to the series, but I just realized there was no mention of him having a dog in the pilot. It looks like his background hasn't really been developed, until sometime in season three. Like, for instance, it looks like Yancy was mostly invented for "Luck of the Fryrish" - even though, in order to be a great-great... grandnephew to Farnsworth, he'd have to have a sibling. In the pilot, he seemed pretty happy to not have to deal with his family anymore - then, in Xmas Story, he felt bad about how much he misses his family. So, it kind of looks to me like not much thought was put into his background - until a couple years later. What are your thoughts?
Mcfry00 06:41, 19 May 2008 (PDT)
:It's not that it wasn't planned out, it's just that it was left open for further filling-in. The dog is never mentioned in the pilot, and this is explained in the commentary for the Jurassic Bark ep. And the brother is also never mentioned, but how often to grown people mention or talk to their brothers? Especially since we only see him for a few hours in 1999. And it's perfectly normal to be completely sick of your family and respond with a "Yahoo!" when you realize you never have to deal with them again (I'm pretty close to that point right now, myself), but eventually, you will begin to miss them. It's sort of a "You don't know what you have till it's gone" sort of thing. --Buddy 13:33, 21 May 2008 (PDT)

Planet Express Delivery Boy, First Class
frozen twice?
Season 1
Fry is hired on his nephew's company as a delivery boy.  Faced with the ability to travel around space, Fry is pleased with his new position.  At first Fry lives in the Planet Express building, but after an apartment hunt he ends up living in Bender's closet.  Fry immediately develops an interest in Leela but, to his dismay, the feelings are not mutual.

His work at Planet Express sees him thrown into several absurd adventures: he is briefly in a relationship with Amy Wong, and while the company's bureaucrat, Hermes Conrad, is away, he has an affair with the company's replacement bureaucrat, Morgan Proctor.  Neither lasts very long, but when he almost destroys the Planet Express building and Hermes fire him (along with Bender and Leela) he gets Leela's former job by accident and finds his old girlfriend Michelle unfrozenShe does not enjoy life in the future, and asks him to come with him to year 4000After they wake up and realise that they are actually just in Los Angeles two days later, she dumps him in favour of Pauly Shore.
When did that happen? The only second freezing I remember was when he was in pauly shore's tube, but he was only frozen for three days, not a thousand years. I'm so confused? Did it happen in a comic? What the dilly, yo?! --Buddy 10:58, 29 November 2007 (PST)
:Did you not watch the film?  He travels back in time to 2000, where after touching his own butt (on his frozen self) he falls into the tube and stays there for a 1000 years, when he wakes up, he tunes it for 7.95 years so he can wake up when the guys are remembering him in Central Park. --SvipTalk 11:03, 29 November 2007 (PST)

At a truck stop Fry eats a bad egg sandwich and gets infected with parasites.  The worms give him a complete tune up, and he both becomes stronger, smarter, and he is capable of impressing Leela with the Holophonor, but Fry fears that Leela has falling in love with the worms rather than him, so he decides to get rid of them.  And he appears to be right, she immediately asks him to leave.
Action figures?
The most important person in the universe
Should we include a sub-article (similar to the episodes' commentary sub-articles) for related merchendise? Obviously, action figures, shirts, that sort of thing. Or should we consolidate all such things into a single mega-article? I ask because I don't see anything anywhere about action figures, and it might be interesting to note the different types and companies and accessories... --Buddy 18:23, 3 February 2008 (PST)

:Well, we definitely need something somewhere. I think a subsection of the "Additional Info" that links to the pages for the groups of action figures/etc (based on style/company) would be best. At some point the Brain Spawn attack Earth, and in its progress it makes all humans stupid or stupider. Fry however is immune to this as he lacks a certain Delta brain wave. The Nibblonians inform Leela of how to save him, but just as she convince him that the brains are evil, he runs to the library where he meets and battles the Big Brain.  Fry beats the Big Brain, and when everyone is back to normal, no one has any memory of his actions and just thinks he is crazy.

While the Planet Express crew are watching a supernova about to explode, Fry puts some metal into a microwave in the ship, which causes them to be thrown back in time to 1947 and they manage to crash land in Roswell, New Mexico.  During this trip he kills his (supposed) grandfather and meets his grandmother, but after a night with her it becomes obvious that himself is his grandfather.
Catch phase?
But the Nibblonians call for his help again and the Brain Spawn have begun collecting all information in the universe, and would then destroy it.  The Nibblonians explain that due to his "past-nastification" he lacks the Delta brain wave.  It is revealed to him inside the Infosphere that it was Nibbler who made him fall into the tube and original come to the future. But Fry's love for Leela makes him accept it.  And in a second attempt, he destroys the Infosphere and the universe is saved.
It seems like most of the rest of the cast has something they're known to say a lot. What about Fry, though? I can't think of anything, off-hand.

A deal with the devil
:Bender is probably the character that has most catch phrasesFarnsworth has the most memorableHermes, Zoidberg and Amy all have theirsYou can argue that Leela's "Hi-yah!" is her catch phrase, as she seem later on to use even when pulling out plugs.  Fry, on the other hand, doesn't.  And it's not that it really matters in the endCause his most likely catchphrase is just saying stupid thingsSuch as "I'll be whatever I wanna do." But not a common phrase spoken over and over again. To be honest, it doesn't fit his character. --SvipTalk 06:05, 19 May 2008 (PDT)

::I did a Google search on this, and it looks like the question had been asked before. "What's up?" has been suggested - which, I think, is more borderline. He's probably the only character in the series to say that, but it still might be a stretch. Howqever, "swish" and "burn" were also mentioned as possible ones.
During more events with his crew members, he wound up in a parallel universe where he and Leela is married, he gets his nose cut off, he writes a love note to Leela by moving the stars themselves, he gets in a relationship with Lucy Liu-bot, he becomes the vice chairman of the company during a takeover, the emperor of Trisol and much more.
:::Walkin' on sunshine!!! *runs away* --Buddy 13:29, 21 May 2008 (PDT)

But his passion and number one thing he always wanted still remains unexplored.  He thinks back to when had the worms, and when he could play the Holophonor to impress Leela.  Bender suggests that he should make a deal with the Robot Devil, and in an (to the Robot Devil at least) appalling ironic outcome, he gets the Robot Devil's hands.  He can play the Holophonor now, and he becomes a famous musician, performing many classical numbers.

Hedonism Bot hires him to write an opera, Fry decides to write it about Leela.  And after the first act of the opera, it is already deemed best opera of all time.  But meanwhile the Robot Devil is plotting against Fry to get his hands back, because the Robot Devil is getting tired of Fry's handsAnd so in the final act, the Robot Devil interrupts the opera and demands his hands backFry refuses, and the Robot Devil explains that if so, he will marry Leela for which she has signed (unknowingly for her though)Fry realises that this ultimatum only has one solution, to let Leela go and give up the Robot Devil's hands.  And since he cannot play any more, the opera is credited as sucking.

The secret to time travel
Bender's Big Score
Planet Express' delivery license is revoked by the Box Network, forcing the Professor to terminate his employees.  But by the time the Professor gets around to telling them (two years later), their license is restored after a change in management at the Box Network&mdash;they are back in business.  Fry becomes a centre of attention as a tattoo on his rear contains the secret to time travel; when Alien Scammers (led by Nudar) take over the business, they find the machine language time code on his butt.  Bender is ordered back in time to steal all of Earth's valuables from the pastBut Fry is more upset that Lars Fillmore is getting a chance with Leela.

The scammers feel it best to be rid of the time code once they finally become anxious that the universe will be destroyed. Utilising a mirror, Fry manages to read the code off his butt and escapes back to January 1st, 2000. Here he attempts to get some food from Mr. Panucci, but since he has no money from that era he cannot, except the pizza he delivered to I. C. Wiener, it is here he decides to travel back an hour when the pizza was warm.  His time paradox duplicate refuses to do the same thing and walks off.  But Fry himself manages to end up inside the same tube he was originally frozen in.  When his frozen self wakes up, he closes the tube after him and leaves the timer for 7.95 years to wake up again appropriate to when he had left.

Luckily for him, Lars Fillmore calls off the wedding, and while he is unable to get Leela's attention, at least he and she won't be dating any more.  And after having Hermes and Bender save the Earth, he decides on New Year's Eve of 3007, that Lars and Leela belong together.  But here it is revealed that Lars is the exact same time paradox duplicated he left at Applied Cryogenics.

Saving the universe... again
Into the Wild Green Yonder
In 3009, Fry was needed by the Mad people to help defeat the final Dark One and stop it from wiping out all life in the entire universe. Because he lacked the delta brain wave, his mind could not be read, and due to an accident he could temporarily read minds. With all of creation on his shoulders, he found the Dark One by chance after believing himself to be it. However the Dark One was only a small leach, the Violet Dwarf System became the final Encyclopod which gave the once extinct plants and animals to the universe and easily destroyed the last Dark One and Zoidberg then ate it. Fry and the whole Planet Express crew flew into a wormhole, after Fry and Leela expressed their true love for each other and kissed.

Family
Fry's family tree is a bit convoluted, due in part to the reuse of common names, but mostly because Fry went back in time and became his own grandpa (3ACV19).
*Professor Farnsworth, Fry's many-times-great-nephew and at the same time many-times-grandson.
*Cubert Farnsworth, Hubert Farnsworth's clone.
*Yancy Fry, Jr., Fry's older brother and grandson.
*Philip J. Fry, Fry's Nephew (and great grandson), named in Fry's memory.
*Yancy and Mrs. Fry, parents (Yancy is also technically Fry's son, and is also his own grandfather)
*Enos Fry, assumed paternal grandfather, actually unrelated.
*Seymour, his dog in the 20th century.
*Turanga Leela, ex-wife.
*Mildred Fry, paternal grandmother.
*Mr and Mrs. Gleisner, maternal grandparents.
*Igner, many-times great nephew.
*Lars Fillmore, time paradox duplicate.
*Yivo, ex-spouse.

Age
Fry was frozen at age 25 for 1000 years making him 1025. Then 4 years later at age 1029 chronologically, was youthisized to age 14, reverse-aged to near unbirth, then re-aged, supposedly to his correct biological age, 29, in the fountain of aging (4ACV09). 4 years later at age 33 he went back in time and was frozen yet again for 1007.95 years making him 2040 but still biologically only 33. Based on Leela's speculation there is a chance after the fountain of aging he is less than 30: the professor never scans them with his age detector. After the events of the fourth movie he is about 2041 years old.

Lars Fillmore
Lars Fillmore
In Bender's Big Score, he has a duplicate that hangs out in Old New York with Leelu and everyone. He was thought to be killed by an explosion caused by an obedience virus controlled Bender, but it actually burns off his hair and damages his voice box, turning him into Lars Fillmore.

Fry's Birthdate

Buddy13 FW16.png I got his birthdate off of Wikipedia.

Wikipedia listed his birthdate as August 9 1975, but there's no justification given so I just reverted it. There's a general discussion about his age on wikipedia which is pretty funny.
One possible way of finding an exact date is that in Luck of the Fryrish, opening scene, the announcer says: "And Grote leans into the pitch. It hits him! The Mets win!" Jerry Grote was in the Mets from 66 to 77. So it's possible there's an actual game where Jerry Grote took a ball for the win in the last inning. That would be a nice gift from the writers. I'm afraid I know too little about baseball, but maybe this page can help? Alternatively, have a look around here, but I am not sure how to read the page. --SvipTalk 07:02, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

There is no game where grote wins by leaning into the pitch and getting hit. i know its a shame it would be nice to figure out when his birthday was but, then again its one of life's greatest mysteries.

Fry As His Own Grandfather

I was thinking this out one day and I realized that Enos is His mother's father. The reason bing is that in one episode, Fry's father, Yancy, said that every first born Fry names his first born son Yancy. Just a thought. --Fallettus 10:57, 22 February 2007 (PST)Someguy564

This has been discussed many times in many places, including here.

Well, technically, the only proof is the sketch of Enos Fry. As per the discussion here, we know Enos is a Fry also our Fry speaks to his Dad in Enos' crotch. We therefore assume the slightly less disgusting. Enos is the falsified father of Yancy.
Wait why did I say "slightly less disgusting"? If Minute Man is ancestral to Our Fry's mother and he confused his grandparents (in fact fathering his mother) and Enos is a Fry, then at some point Fry's parents either were or believed they were cousins. Actually, the cousin idea may explain the hair similarity. - Quolnok 02:59, 27 February 2007 (PST)
Convolution ahoy! -- Buddy13 FW16.png 08:17, 27 February 2007 (PST)

Robot Elder

It's all very simple. The similarity between Yancy and Fry's mother may be purely for the sake of making them look like a family from an artistic view. Often people look for people who look like them. --SvipTalk 18:59, 3 April 2008 (PDT)
Thank you, that's what I've been saying all along(note that I've previously said this on an edit remark on the Phillip J Fry II page in particular). It's not hard to grasp such a concept.Anarchy Balsac 19:23, 3 April 2008 (PDT)

Fry's Age

In the episode "Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles", everyone (including Fry) goes in the Fountain of Aging. The Professer says that he is even older than before. So is it not possible, nay, probable that everyone is a slightly different age than before? How likely is it that when each person jumped into the fountain, they all come out the same age as before? Not very likely, I assume. So can we really be sure of anyone's real age? - Ziekerz

We know that, unlike other cartoons, the characters age as years progress. The best we can do is take known ages and add one after the year of the episode ends. Although we probably should add a bit to all characters with known ages pages noting the source for the information. You are right though, we don't know how much the fountain aged them. - Quolnok 19:09, 10 August 2007 (PDT)
Maybe, Ziekerz. But how is likely is most of the things on the show? This is not a serious TV show. Well... not much TV is serious. But you know what I mean. You better accept that the writers on this show has a range of ... freedom. And besides, their time in the fountain wouldn't have changed their technically age. --SvipTalk 20:38, 10 August 2007 (PDT)
You do have a point Svip, however keep in mind that while the Futurama staff doesn't do this perfectly, they do conform to continuity and the laws of science more than almost all other TV shows and movies.Anarchy Balsac 09:06, 1 February 2008 (PST)

???

Why does this page, Leela's and Bender's differ form the standard character articles with General Info and Biography sections - Humorbot 0.4 Planet Express Logo.png 08:51, 13 September 2007 (PDT)

I think they were made before there was a standard and weren't changed. Feel free to fix them. - Quolnok 02:31, 14 September 2007 (PDT)

Expand

Like wikipedia with the long character articles we could split them up into different sections like for Fry, Early Life, Discovering the Future (mainly season one), and others about seasons 2,3,4 and when it comes out the movies. Also we could include other sections like on his romantic interests - Humorbot 0.4 Planet Express Logo.png 08:51, 13 September 2007 (PDT)

Family

I was not sure how to sort out Fry's family in the new infobox there are too many relitives. I did my best but knowing me something must have gone wrong - Humorbot 0.4 Planet Express Logo.png 14:20, 25 November 2007 (PST)

If there are too many, write this instead:
See family section.
Cause sometimes it is too much for a caption, e.g. see The Beast with a Billion Backs and check the title reference thing in the infobox. --SvipTalk 14:28, 25 November 2007 (PST)
And wouldn't you know it thanks to fate I already deleted that section, thanks for the info Svip - Humorbot 0.4 Planet Express Logo.png 14:33, 25 November 2007 (PST)
Humorbot, that reminds me of an important thing. Just because something is mentioned in the infobox, does it not mean it cannot be mentioned again in the article. The infobox is intended for a quick overlook. And tabular data. --SvipTalk 11:05, 29 November 2007 (PST)

It's not that it wasn't planned out, it's just that it was left open for further filling-in. --Buddy 13:33, 21 May 2008 (PDT)

frozen twice?

When did that happen? The only second freezing I remember was when he was in pauly shore's tube, but he was only frozen for three days, not a thousand years. I'm so confused? Did it happen in a comic? What the dilly, yo?! --Buddy 10:58, 29 November 2007 (PST)

Did you not watch the film? He travels back in time to 2000, where after touching his own butt (on his frozen self) he falls into the tube and stays there for a 1000 years, when he wakes up, he tunes it for 7.95 years so he can wake up when the guys are remembering him in Central Park. --SvipTalk 11:03, 29 November 2007 (PST)
My movie hasn't arrived yet, and I'm honoring the creators by not watching illegal versions. Foo! *runs off* --Buddy 11:05, 29 November 2007 (PST)
I thought you said you had watched it... *scratches head* --SvipTalk 11:06, 29 November 2007 (PST)
I accidentally stumbled on an online version, and I watched the cold opening, but after the theme song (and a bit of doctor bimbo or whatever Fry called her) I stopped. The movie will be in my mailbox today, and I shall watch it on the glorious real screen of a television, as it was meant to be! (even if it were legal, I can't stand watching things on tiny computer screens, and at poor internet-friendly resolutions). But within a day or two, I'll have watched the whole thing, including any and all commentaries, special features, deleted scenes, and robot porn. --Buddy 11:09, 29 November 2007 (PST)
Amazon shipped mine Tuesday, but they say ETA is 17 December. >:O How difficult is it t send something across the Atlantic I ask!? Also, I am sorry for revealing such information then! I shall speak no more until you have it. I too want to get my hand on the extra material! ;-; --SvipTalk 11:14, 29 November 2007 (PST)
Lucky me, i suppose. I got mine at blockbuster!--Dr. Zoidberg 21:20, 26 January 2008 (PST)

Action figures?

Should we include a sub-article (similar to the episodes' commentary sub-articles) for related merchendise? Obviously, action figures, shirts, that sort of thing. Or should we consolidate all such things into a single mega-article? I ask because I don't see anything anywhere about action figures, and it might be interesting to note the different types and companies and accessories... --Buddy 18:23, 3 February 2008 (PST)

Well, we definitely need something somewhere. I think a subsection of the "Additional Info" that links to the pages for the groups of action figures/etc (based on style/company) would be best. Unless the members of the groups are to be on separate pages and in group categories, then just a link to that article. - Quolnok 18:31, 3 February 2008 (PST)

Catch phase?

It seems like most of the rest of the cast has something they're known to say a lot. What about Fry, though? I can't think of anything, off-hand. Mcfry00 05:07, 19 May 2008 (PDT)

Bender is probably the character that has most catch phrases. Farnsworth has the most memorable. Hermes, Zoidberg and Amy all have theirs. You can argue that Leela's "Hi-yah!" is her catch phrase, as she seem later on to use even when pulling out plugs. Fry, on the other hand, doesn't. And it's not that it really matters in the end. Cause his most likely catchphrase is just saying stupid things. Such as "I'll be whatever I wanna do." But not a common phrase spoken over and over again. To be honest, it doesn't fit his character. --SvipTalk 06:05, 19 May 2008 (PDT)
I did a Google search on this, and it looks like the question had been asked before. "What's up?" has been suggested - which, I think, is more borderline. He's probably the only character in the series to say that, but it still might be a stretch. Howqever, "swish" and "burn" were also mentioned as possible ones.
