Plot outline

In the black dwarf system, in the deepest space, a mystic green wave of light spreads across space. In the near by violet dwarf system in slightly deep space, the wave of light hits its astronomical bodies, and one an asteroid, life begins to form.

Cut to the old Mars Vegas, where the Planet Express crew is partying. But the city is soon to come to an end, because Leo Wong is demolishing it in front of a crowd, Leo explains that they are going to build a new Mars Vegas, bigger and better out further in the desert.

At the construction site, a group of environmentalist feminists, the Feministas, lead by Frida Waterfall, shows up to protest the construction. In Leo's carelessness, he blows them up, and Frida's women symbol necklace is lodged into Fry's brain.

Leela becomes a bit concerned with Leo's lack of respect for nature. Leo defends himself, by explaining he has hired Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth as the scientist for an environmental survey of the construction. But Farnsworth is clearly bribed by Leo.

In a small scum puddle, Leela finds a small Desert Muck Leech (Cyprinodon martius), Farnsworth explains that the puddle in question is the last place in the universe where this species breeds, which means it is a lot easier to rid of than the ponies. But Leo doesn't care, and lays a car park over the site, however, Leela managed to save just one leech.

Leo is having some legal issues with what happened to Fry, so in a deal not to sue him, he gives him a free entry to the Poker tournament. When Leo needs the rest as witnesses, Bender scores them a deal for free suites and free dinner when the new Mars Vegas opens.

At the new casinos, Fry begins to experience that he can hear what other people thinks. Out on the street, the speaking worsens, as more and more people's voices appear in his head, and so he flees into an alley where he meets Hutch. Hutch can apparently also read minds, but explains that in order to rid Fry of the voices, he needs a tin foil hat, which Hutch supplies. After which, Hutch explains Fry he is a mind reader, Hutch discovers something strange about Fry, with him being unable to read his thoughts. Hutch warns Fry about the Dark Ones, and tells him never to speak of his ability.

Meanwhile, the Robot Mafia and Bender is enjoying a theatre of the pornographic art. Bender becomes especially interested in the key act of Fanny. So he tries to meet her at her dressing room, Fanny immediately becomes interested in Bender, but there is a slight hitch; Fanny is Donbot's wife. Despite this, they make out immediately behind Donbot's back.

Elsewhere, Fry wants to try out his new "superpower", and after mistaking it for invisibility, he decides to enter the poker tournament. At Elzar's place in Mars Vegas, Bender reveals the affair with Fanny to the crew. Despite the obvious display to Joey Mousepad and Clamps, Donbot is still not sure that the affair is real. Bender also decides to enter the Universal Poker Championship to please Fanny. Fanny warns him that he isn't lucky enough, but Bender explains he is 40% lucky which was a truckload of horseshoes. Fanny supplies Bender with Donbot's foot which would grant him 70% more luck, in addition to those two kinds of luck, he also stepped on a Leprechaun, which amounts him up to 3 kinds of luck, at which he cannot loose.

Donbot explains to the gang, that to convince him of the affair, Bender would have to win the poker tournament, which would mean that Bender has his foot, and thus he and Fanny is having an affair.

At the 3009 Universal Poker Championship, hosted by Penn & Teller, Bender and Fry meets up to discover each other has entered. With the other contestants eliminated, it is down to Bender and Fry, but at their final hand, Bender refuses to look at his cards, at which Fry cannot use his mind reading skill to know what to do. Fry calls Bender's all in. 3 kings and 2 aces are laid out by the dealer, Fry's hand is two aces, giving him a hand of four. Bender, however, has two kings, one being a coaster labelled "King of Beers", giving him a hand of five kings and he wins the championship.

However, Bender's win also means that Donbot has decided to deal with Bender and Fanny. Out in the desert, the Robot Mafia forces them to dig their own graves, after which they shoot them and bury them. The crew searching for their remains, quickly finds them as Bender and Fanny aren't dead, because the whole ordeal was purely a warning.

At Wongminster, Leo's miniature golf club, Leo is playing together with Fry, Amy and Leela. Leela is complaining about the no-girl policy at the club. In addition, Leela isn't exactly pleased at Leo's treatment of nature and animal. However, Leo is tired of only one aspect of miniature golf, that it is so damn miniature. Therefore, he has begun constructing the universe's biggest miniature golf course. He shows them first tee, which goes from Mars to Pluto's moon, Hydra.

Leo explains that he is going to destroy 12% of the galaxy to build the course. Leo has hired Farnsworth to perform a environmental survey of the area he has decided to place his course in.

With the survey in progress, Farnsworth explains why a regular sized miniature golf course simply isn't enough for men, because all men does is take other stuff and make it bigger, at which he shows off his 301 inch TV, but to his discontent, a 302 inch model is out. As the Planet Express Ship has reached the violet dwarf system, the machine discovers life on an asteroid. However, the asteroid is also the location for the 18th hole as well as the golf pants museum. Despite the clear signs of life, Farnsworth decides to approve for demolition, clearly keen to being bribed.

At the golf course, Earth president Nixon and his vice-president, the Headless body of Agnew is playing with Leo. They are interrupted by the Feministas, who has now been joined by Leela, to protest the construction of the golf course. However, in an attempt for Agnew to get the protesters, a run-away golf cart runs him over and he is declared dead.

In a speech to the planet, Nixon is not pleased with the death of his vice-president, he declares the Feministas outlaws. In their hide out, the Feministas, decides to move up from simple protesting to actual sabotage. On Saturn's rings, Wong has a sweeper to sweeper its rings off, but the machine is easily sabotaged by the Feministas by purring sugar in the fuel tank and an organic potato in the tail pipe. To increase public image, Leela decides to use her muck leech as their mascot.

As Fry wanders New New York's streets after Leela's departure, he runs into Hutch again. Hutch decides to reveal the group he belongs to, the League of Mad Fellows, which is lead by the Number 9 Man. The Number 9 Man explains to Fry how life originally started with the Chi spreading across the universe, but for reasons unknown, the Chi began to deceive. Which meant the lifeforms across the universe began to whither. However, the knowledge of these former lifeforms were not forgotten by the League of Mad Fellows, who pasted the knowledge on down through the ages.

However, recently, the Chi has begun to reform, and the asteroid in the violet dwarf system holds the enlightenment of a new green age, and Fry's purpose is to become a Sheppard and protector of it, because Fry lacks the Delta Brain Wave. His first task is to stop Leo Wong in his task to construction his miniature golf course. So Fry gets hired as a security guard at Wongminster.

Meanwhile, the Feministas are sabotaging the King Kong hole by hooking the green off its asteroid, destroying the course. On Channel v2 News, this story is their top story. Linda is however not pleased with Morbo always getting the top stories. In a breaking story, the Feministas has sent a tape out with a warning to Leo Wong and a call for support from the public. After the broadcast, Linda decides to join them.

Leo asks Nixon for help with the threat presented by the group, and Nixon decides to help by sending Zapp Brannigan on the mission to stop the group. Bender has decided to join Zapp's mission, because of the large payment. Bender has supplied Zapp with information about the identities of the group. Bender has a plan to capture leader, Leela, by wire-tapping on Fry's mobile phone.

At the site, Bender obtains Fry's phone, while debating with Leo and Amy. Amy is confused about Fry's friendship with Leela, yet works with Leo, and Leo cannot stop making quips about Amy's physical appearance. In disgust, Amy leaves to join the Feministas.

Later, while closing up the golf course, Fry runs into Frida. Fry asks her to tell Leela that he is really in their side.

At Planet Express, Farnsworth is announcing that they are going out of business forever - again, for without their delivery crew and the declining sale in Tickle Me Bender dolls, Farnsworth's only option is to close the business. Farnsworth moves on to removing Hermes's and Dr. Zoidberg's career chips. However a phone call from Leo Wong puts them back in business again.

Leo has ordered them to set up a fence to keep out the Feministas while destroying the violet dwarf star. However, before they can set up the fence, they are boarded by the Feministas. Using the fence, they capture Leo and Inez Wong.

Back at their hideout, Frida is writing up new slogans, while thinking about what Fry told her to say. But one of the Dark Ones is near and reads her thoughts, and without her knowing who Fry was, the Dark One decides to kill her.

Near Wongminster, Fry runs into Hutch again, who brings him back to the League in a different hideout, which is the former city of the Native Martians. Number 9 Man tells him about two ancient species, a snake like and frog like species, which started out co-operating to get food, but later started an "arms race of evolution". Either of them would later become the Dark Ones, a species with prayed on other lifeforms, and destroying entire species after another. However, the other species, became the sole protector of the species, and started defending all other lifeforms, known as the Encyclopods, cause their DNA incorporates every DNA of every endangered species. Which they can use to recreated every extinct species.

Meanwhile, back at the Feministas' hideout, Farnsworth, Hermes and Zoidberg are locked up. To their horror, they find Frida is dead. Leela calls Fry to prove to Amy that he is not a bad guy. Meanwhile, Fry learns that the Encyclopods have died out after the Chi dissented, but have left an egg behind, which they are going to hatch. The egg is located in the violet dwarf star system, and the star itself is the egg. However, a Dark One is on its way to the egg to ensure its destruction, but the League does not know what they look like, however, there is one way they can tell that someone is a Dark One, because one would be unable to read their thoughts. The reason why the other members of the League cannot do it, is because the tin foil hats do not work at close range to the Dark Ones, but since Fry's brain cannot be read by anyone, he has a chance.

Interrupting, Fry's phone rings. Leela and Fry decides to meet. However, the wire-tapping of Fry's phone pays off, because Zapp and Bender are listening in on the conversation. Zapp tells Kif to set co-ordinates for Leela (apparently, which is her measurements, 36-24-36). At Keeler Crater, the Nimbus infiltrates the meeting, but the Planet Express ship lead by the Feministas arrives to save them.

The chase between the Nimbus and Feministas begin, Amy plans to loose them through the giant miniature golf course. At the windmill tee, Zapp's carelessness gets the Nimbus sliced in half by the wings of the mill, at the loss of all his men. Despite the crippled Nimbus, the chase continues to the King Kong hole. The Nimbus is badly damaged as a result of a bad shot through the gorilla. Zapp orders the ship repaired and thus cancels the chase.

The hole for the tee, however, is a worm hole, and the Planet Express ship's reappearance on the other side of the hole is near to the Nimbus, as well as further enough in time to have the Nimbus repaired and the chase is back on. While slowing for the violet dwarf star without fuel, the Nimbus finally catches up with them and have them arrested.

At the Earth Supreme Court, the Feministas stand trial by the court lead by Snoop Dogg's head. During the trail, the Feministas are charged for several counts of crimes, including protecting the environment (which apparently also is a crime). Nixon, Bender, Fry and Leo Wong are witnesses in the trail. The decision of the judges are 5-4 to acquit. However, the female judges' votes only count half, the score is 4-2.5 to convict.

The Feministas are sentenced to Maxi-Padlock, a high security women's prison. And with the group gone, Leo schedules the demolition for the next day. Fry is unsure what to do, so he seeks out the League again. The Number 9 Man explains that Fry has to stop the Dark One from stopping him stopping Leo Wong, and in order to do that, he needs the Omega Device. The device, when activated, will momentarily disable the Dark One, giving Fry a chance to stop it. However, to recognise the Dark One, Fry has to come up with a plan himself, Hutch explains that its thoughts are unreadable, which gives Fry an idea.

At Maxi-Padlock, the group is planning an escape, Leela attempts to get the muck leech to crave its way through the walls. Back at Planet Express, Zoidberg and Scruffy has finished painting the ship back to its original green colour, while Farnsworth and Hermes have been watching on their MagnaPhallix 304" about the arrest, and Farnsworth is still unconvincable to do something about getting their crew back.

The muck leech, however, has failed, but Bender breaks the Feministas out instead. Bender explains his reasoning with him being able to commit 50 felonies at once by breaking them out, putting his score way above theirs.

At the violet dwarf star, Leo has gathered a large crowd to overlook the demolition. Meanwhile, the escape from the prison is successful with the Planet Express ship arriving just in the nick of time. The crew has decided to help the group. Farnsworth explains his discontent with living with thought that he got bribed and misused his position as a scientist.

At the gathering, Fry is trying to plan out to find the Dark One, by trying to spot whose thoughts he cannot read, but despite trying, he cannot spot the person or creature in question. But Fry remembers that his thoughts cannot be read as well, and concludes that he must be the Dark One himself. But the Planet Express ship arrives to interrupt the countdown. Despite their efforts, Leela gives back the detonator to Fry, whom uses it straight away.

However, while unseen, Fry had connected the wire to the Omega Device, despite its appearance, the device has no effect on Fry. As it turns out, the muck leech is the Dark One, whom explains he is the last of its kind. While disabled, the asteroids in the star system forms a line with the life filled asteroid in front. The line floats into the star, and the star begins evolving like a foetus, which evolves into the Encyclopod.

As the Encyclopod speaks, Leela asks what's going on, and as Hutch begins to tell, he is attacked by the Dark One, and finally lodges Frida's necklace out of his brain, though dies as a result of the attack. The Encyclopod destroys the Dark One and preserves the DNA of homo sapiens. Fry is confused, because he thought it only saved the DNA of endangered species, the Encyclopod flies off without explanation.

However, Zapp is still putting them under arrest, but the group flees off on the ship, and so the chase restarts. On board the ship, Leela finally returns Fry's affection for her, but is interrupted by a worm hole, which they decide to fly into, ending the film.
