Hovercars are cars that move around by hovering above the ground. It is unknown who invented them, though it is known that Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth designed some of them. By the 31st century, mankind have grown so extremely dependant on hovering, that they believe that it is impossible to travel any other way. Although hovercars evolved from wheel-using regular cars, the wheel has gone obsolete at some time before the year 3000, and is only sometimes referred as weird "rubber feet".
