Godzilla is a fictional Japanese monster from the 1954 film of the same name. The character is the subject of a number of films, comics, and video games. Futurama has referenced it a few times.
References to Godzilla in Futurama
- In "Anthology of Interest I", a giant Zoidberg destroys New New York, referencing Godzilla.
- In "The Route of All Evil", Hermes' son shows him a newspaper on which there is a Godzilla-like creature on a podium. The headline is "SPACE MONSTER TO CITY: GRRRRR".
- In "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on Television", Calculon says that he has seen acting better than Bender's from extras in Godzilla movies.
- In "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings", Godzilla is featured in an opera written by Fry.
- In Bender's Game, the professor says "great Godzilla's gonads".
- In "A Clockwork Origin", a robotic plesiosaur [1] uses Godzilla's roar.
- In "31st Century Fox", Mothzilla gets into the ship's closet.
- In "Monkey Sea, Monkey Doom!", human-sized versions of Godzilla and King Kong flee from giant sea monkeys.
