According to the Professor, its inventor, the Farnsworth Novelty Disintegrator Ray is nothing more than a common teleporter ray. It's merely a worthless toy. The device was advertised in the comic that Fry wrote in August of 3010.
Grrrl bought a Farnsworth ray, probably to use it in the Planet Express headquarters. While fighting with Lrrr, Ndnd took it from Grrrl and shot her. Fortunately, she only managed to teleport Grrrl elsewhere. The same thing happened when Lrrr supposedly killed Fry. The rest of the Planet Express crew eventually found him in the shower, finishing his comic book.
