Dr. Banjo is a super intelligent orangutan and a professor, presumably at "Mars University" as he knows Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth. He is one of the leaders of the anti-evolution manifestants. He confronts the Professor Farnsworth about the evolution theory, but is later convinced that evolution may exist, however after being set in motion by a powerful alien or a god.
