Adlai Atkins was like Leela an Orphan who lived in Cookieville Minimum Security Orphanarium. He has since become a doctor and after giving Leela two eyes he started to date her much to Fry's anger. He has an obsession with making things look normal and thinks that everyone who looks odd should have an operation especially if he wants to adopt them. Due to this Leela dumped him
