DeForest Kelley (January 20, 1920-June 11, 1999) is a actor best known for his role as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in the original ''Star Trek'' series.  He and James Doohan were the only original cast members from the original series not to reprise their roles in "[[Where No Fan Has Gone Before]]", since Kelley had passed away four years before the episode appeared.  Kelley instead appeared in a silent cartoon form, while Doohan's role of Scotty was replaced by [[Welshie]].
