What's the difference for you between a secondary and a tertiary character? The plot? The time on screen? Something else?

  • A secondary character is a character who is important to the overall plot line by having frequent appearances or having a significant impact in a single episode.
  • A tertiary character is a character, whose purpose and significance is little, even if they appear in more than one episode. These characters can be stock characters or joke characters, if they are granted higher importance than that, they can be bumped to a secondary character.
