Barbados Slim is a limboist from Barbados and the winner of the 3004 Olympics. He was Hermes's rival when Hermes was a limboist as well, and was once married to LaBarbara, but they divorced. In 3007, when Hermes lost his body, LaBarbara left him and returned to Barbados, taking Dwight with her. But once Hermes recovered his body she came back to him.

Personality
Barbados Slim had a rivalry with Hermes Conrad because he was Hermes' equal in limboing contests and because he was once married to Hermes' wife LaBabara. Barbados also said he was used to unzipping a womans frock and was the only man who had won an olympic gold medal in both limbo and sex. He was confident, perhaps overly so, in his limboing abilities and was often condenscending to Hermes.
Calculon is most famous as the star of the hit robot soap opera All My Circuits. He has also appeared in films, including The Magnificent Three, for which he was nominated for an Oscar (although this was just Dr. Zoidberg trying to save his own skin as Calculon had said earlier that if he didn't win one he would kill Bender, Harold Zoid and Zoidberg).

Throughout his career he has lived a secret life unknown to the public. He is nearly a thousand years old, rather than 27 as claimed in his biography. He changes identities every few decades, and starting out from a humble beginning as a motorized service arm working on Project Satan, made his way to being many of history's great acting robots, including Acting Unit 0.8, Thespa-mat, and David Duchovny. For most of these thousand years, he was also a Were-Car, until Fry and Leela broke the curse by destroying the original were-car.

In 3010, he was directing a disaster film, but most of the props and the actors were presumably destroyed and killed in a real disaster in shooting the first scene.

Personality
Calculon is a skilled actor who is programmed to be very busy. He is idolised by many people, including Bender, and he can be extremely self-centered. Calculon's acting talent seems to have infused itself into his everyday life, and he speaks very melodramatically. Calculon once fell in love with Bender while the latter was pretending to be a fembot named Coilette.
**This suggests that his OS has remained the same since his days as an assembly arm, which would date his assembly between 2007 and 2009 when Vista was the current Windows OS. Moreover as Project Satan is a military project and the US army switched to Vista in 2009 and Windows 7 is due out at the end of 2009, it is likely his assembly was in 2009 making his age 2009. Inez Wong is a rich human who own the western hemisphere of Mars together with her husband Leo. They farm buggalo at their ranch.

Personality
Inez is similar to her husband being selfish and greedy. She was also overly concerned about Amy's choice of husband and was obsessed with getting a grandchild. Apparently she cared more about having grandchildren than the happiness of her daughter. As soon as their Buggalo were stolen, Inez claimed she wanted to devorce Leo indicating that she only married him for his money.

Biography
stub

Inez married Leo Wong, a rich owner of a majority of Mars, and they had a daughter, Amy in 2979. While Amy went off to study at "Mars University" and becoming an intern at Planet Express, Inez has stayed at Wong Ranch breeding buggalo.
Inez and Leo had a habit of meddling in Amy's life frequently trying to get her together with a man in the hopes of getting grandchildren. They disapproved of Amy's relationship with Kif Kroker.
*Both Leo and Inez have a strong desire to have grandchildren.
*Zoidberg spent a day or two as the Wongs' "son".
*In her first appearances, Inez was shown to be able to speak perfect English in spite of her atrocious Asian accent, but this trait disappeared in "Where the Buggalo Roam".

Fourth Lieutenant Kif Kroker is an officer of the Democratic Order of Planets. He serves aboard the Nimbus as first officer to Zapp Brannigan. Zapp is generally abusive towards Kif, forcing him to do a variety of demeaning tasks, such as shaving Zapp's armpits. Kif meekly tolerates this abuse, as he apparently lacks the confidence to defend himself. However sometimes Kif seeks out advice from Zapp and is called Zapp's most loyal officer and best friend.

Personality
Kif Kroker was a nervous and selfconscious individual who suffered from lack of confidence. He was submissive towards Zapp Branigan even though Zapp frequently had him do humiliating things such as shaving his armpits. However Zapp considered Kif to be his closest friend and most loyal officer. Zapp even tried to comfort Kif after discovering he was in love with Amy Wong, though with very limited success. Kif has been known to insult Zapp behind his back. Despite being rather submissive towards Zapp, Kif once punched Zapp in the stomach after discovering he and Amy had had a brief sexual relationship.

Kif fell in love with Amy Wong after only a brief meeting with her on the Titanic. For a whole year he was too nervous to speak to her but eventually admitted his feelings for her. Despite her parents dislike of him, Amy returned his feelings.

Biography
Kif has fought in wars against the Spheroids of Spheron 1, the Spiderians of Tarantulon 6, the Decapodian's Army in their invasion of Earth and the Omicronians in the defence of Earth.

Kif seems like the ideal candidate for General of the DOOP Army, however, he often gets the blame when Zapp makes a mistake and has the credit taken from him by Zapp when he suceeds. Kif was at one point discharged from the DOOP when Zapp blamed most of his mistake on Kif.

Since they met on the Titanic (1ACV10), Kif has been in love with Amy Wong, of the Mars Wongs, though it was much longer before he got the nerve to speak to her. They have been together since their first date (3ACV01). Amy's parents seem to hate Kif although this doesn't stop Amy loving him. Ironically it was them who set Kif and Amy up when Zapp forced the captainship upon him after the vessel crashed.

Kif has hundreds of children, of whom Leela is the mother and Amy the smizmar. They are currently living in the swamps of Amphibios 9 in an immature, "tadpole" form, and will grow legs and emerge from the water in 20 years. Kif's parents are seen in The Beast with a Billion Backs.

Family
*Hundreds of unnamed children (through Leela)
*Amy Wong - Kif's Fonfon Ru, or wife, and smizmar (see Kif-Amy relationship for more info)
*Mr. and Mrs. Kroker - parents
*Amy's entire family through Fonfon Rubok
*At least one sister was briefly seen in US#014.

Additional Info
Catchphrase
*Kif's most notable word (or in this case, noise) would be his trademark sigh. Usually used when confronted with the ineptitude of his superior, Zapp Brannigan.

Trivia
*Although Kif is somewhat like an amphibian, he is apparently capable of growing stubble, as seen in "Brannigan, Begin Again".
*Has no bones - is supported by a system of fluid filled bladders.
*Can walk on walls and ceilings.
*Has three nipples, as seen in "Amazon Women in the Mood".
*Has a camouflage reflex which turns him almost transparent.
*He loses control of this reflex when he becomes nervous.
*Is actually a highly competent crewman, as evidenced during his brief stint with Planet Express.
*Maurice LaMarche stated that Kif's voice is a combination of Jon Lovitz and Truman Capote.
*Is a skilled combatant, as seen in "Three Hundred Big Boys" when he hits two spiders with a giant double-headed fly swat.
*Is a great karaoke singer - in particular "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", due to his time in the DOOP Boys' Chorus.
*Is already dead twice and has been ressurected by Yivo and the birthing machine
*When he is really sick and/or has hangover, he actually becomes liquid.
*He is a good yet unusual breakdancer.

Zapp Brannigan is a 25-Star General in the Democratic Order of Planets, captain of his flagship the Nimbus and head of the DOOP Army.

Personality
Although he claims to be a strategic genius, Zapp Brannigan is actually an imbecile and a coward whose plans could have easily been conjured up by a child. Zapp is inexplicably well-respected throughout the universe, appearing as a Miss Universe Judge and often (ineffectively) defending Earth from attacks. Most battles are lost with Zapp in charge, due to his stupidity and incompetence, however sometimes the army is lucky. Zapp doesn't care about casualties and cheerfully sends wave after wave of his own men to die in battle. He also apparently suffers from a learning disorder that he calls sexlexia, which is a disturbingly erotic disorder, though this may simply have been a pick-up line. Also the central law of DOOP, Brannigan's Law, is named after him.

Zapp Brannigan is robust but with a beer belly, and wears a blonde toupée, but is in fact bald.55 His specially designed DOOP uniform includes a revealing kilt.

Biography
Zapp Brannigan is hardly ever seen without his second in command, Kif Kroker. Zapp and Kif have a tough time working together and Zapp treats Kif like a slave, making his job the second most humiliating job there is. Some of the jobs Zapp makes Kif do are shaving his armpit whilst he was bathing. Even though he treats Kif badly he always gives advice, usually bad advice, to Kif whenever he needs it and also calls him his most best and loyal friend. He was angered when Leela became the mother of Kif's children.

He repeatedly attempts to seduce Leela whom he slept with, in his Lovenasium, on their first meeting. After that fateful night Leela ended the relationship and chose saving Nibbler over getting back with Zapp and being rescued. Zapp keeps trying to get together with Leela and sometimes even mentioned what happened between them in court but she invariably turns him away sometimes even pretending that she has a boyfriend. At the battle of Spheron 1 Zapp was attracted to new male recruit Lee Lemon and feared he might be gay and was relieved to find out that it was actually Leela.

Only once was Zapp's incompetence shown when he blew up DOOP's new headquarters with the Nimbus' hyperdeath laser. This led to him and Kif being banned from the DOOP. The two were employed by The Professor to work at Planet Express which led to Zapp convincing Bender and Fry to mutiny against Leela. Zapp escaped and was given back his title as General even though he tried to pilot the Planet Express Ship into the Neutral President's home.

Family
*Zapp has at least three children, born to Holo-Shed characters who became real. (4ACV01)
*He may also have Amazonian children. (3ACV01)
*Was "host" to a dozen or so Da Nangian spawn. The children were presumably eaten by Zoidberg. (US#004)

Commendations and Accomplishments
*Defeated an army of Killbots by sacrificing his troops until the bots' pre-set "Kill limit" was reached
*Rented self a medal after leading a successful assault on the Spiderian home world Tarantulon 6.
*Led DOOP to victory over the peaceful Ball-People of planet Spheron 1
*Single-handedly defeated the Retiree People of the Assisted Living Nebula
*Annihilated the Pacifists of the Gandhi Nebula
*Conducted a triumphant carpet bombing on Eden 7
*Author of "Zapp Brannigan's Big Book of War", which is likely a plagiarized version of Sun Tzu's The Art of War.
*Sponsored "Brown Out".

Production
Inspiration
Zapp is clearly a parody of classic Sci-Fi captains, specifically Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek. His name is possibly a reference to Zaphod Beeblebrox from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy science fiction comedy media franchise, as is parts of his wit and humour, and both characters call themselves "The Big Z".

Voice
The voice acting was originally scheduled for Phil Hartman, who also voiced Troy McClure on the Simpsons. But due to Hartman's death in 1998, the voice acting was given to Billy West. As a tribute, the makers of the Simpsons dedicated an Bart the Mother to him and retired his characters. On Futurama, Philip J. Fry was named in his honor.

Billy West has stated that Zapp Brannigan is how he envisions Captain Kirk playing William Shatner. West also based the voice on certain radio announcers he's heard who love the sound of their own voice and often enunciate ending consonants.

Additional Info
Trivia
*Apparently he is known as "The Velour Fog"
*Wears a girdle as seen in the episode "Brannigan, Begin Again"
*In the commentary for "When Aliens Attack" it is speculated that Zapp got promoted from Captain to 25-star general sometime since we last saw him. However, it is common for the person in command of a ship to be called "Captain" regardless of their actual rank.
*Only known person to have sex with both Amy and Leela. Although Lars is another possibility.
*He was charged for blowing up DOOP headquarters.

Catchphrase
Zapp occasionally mispronounces words, saying them the way they are spelt. Some examples include:
*Champagne - Champpaggin
*Guacamole - Quaca mole
*Quasedilla- Cassadilla

There are three exceptions: he doesn't have any trouble with "chutzpah," "karaoke," or "au naturel".
Zapp often mentions velour (apparently his favorite material).

Also, when he sings his butchered version of the song "Lola," he properly pronounces the word "champagne", though it is long after Leela corrects his pronunciation of it during his seduction of her.

When mocking this trait, Leela pronounces "connoisseur" as "coin-ass-sewer".

Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth is an aged, eccentric inventor, founder and owner of Planet Express and an honorary Globetrotter. He is crotchety, absent-minded and sometimes brilliant, most well-known for his work in 30th century robotics. In 2999 he was the last known relative of Philip J. Fry, later, Professor Farnsworth discovered that he had fathered a son, as well as the clone that he had kept hidden. In addition, he also serves as a tenured professor at Mars University teaching the Mathematics of Quantum Neutrino Fields. Farnsworth is an inventor of both useful and impractical things, some of which are extremely dangerous devices such as his Doomsday devices.

Personality wise, he varies from callous disregard to sentimental affection. He has no objection to sending his crew to missions which may eventually mean death to his crew, and has sent previous crews to their deaths before. Farnsworth is the oldest living member of the Academy of Inventors, where he often competes with his arch nemesis, Dr. Ogden Wernstrom.

Personality
Hubert Farnsworth is a mad scientist, though how extreme this tendency is varies depending on how writers feel best suits the episode. Farnsworth's name comes from Philo Farnsworth, who invented the television. In addition, his first name, Hubert, may come from Eric Kaplan's former professor, Hubert Dreyfus. The only thing his name has in common with the name of Philip J. Fry is the unsettled "J." as their middle initial, but this may just be a common joke Matt Groening sets for his characters.

Though Proffesor Farnsworth is a genius he is also very senile and sometimes forgets things that had happened only moments earlier. He also has a habit of saying "Good news everyone" which more often than not means bad news. Hubert also often appears indifferent to the wellfare of his crew, often sending them on dangerous missions which could get them killed, though it's highly unlikely that he does this intentionally. He could also sometimes have periods of maniacal laughter. However Farnsworth isn't actually a bad person and appears to share some level of friendship with the other members of Planet Express. He also cares about his clone, Cubert, treating him as though he were his biological son.

Farnsworth also enjoys public nudity, and may have been convicted. His urge to undress becomes much greater around Xmas.

Biography
Early Life
Hubert J. Farnsworth was born on 9 April, 2841 – although claimed until 3001 that it was actually 2851 – in the nerdiest slum of New New York, Hell's Laboratory. At age 8, he learnt to read, albeit while still in diapers.

Hubert enjoyed his teenage years as a nerd with an affection for role-playing games. After 14 years of graduate school, Farnsworth became a scientist and designed such things as fast cars, trendy night spots and beautiful women, all out of his one-room apartment. Evidence suggests that he may also have been a hippie and a disco boy, possibly during graduate school.

Career path
By 2900 Farnworth had taken a teaching position at Mars University where his most promising student was an up and coming young science undergrad named Ogden Wernstrom. Sadly, the two had a falling out over a pop-quiz score which lead to Wernstrom's hundred year quest for revenge. While retaining a role at the university, Hubert was eventually hired at Mom's Friendly Robot Company, staying there for the next fifty years. During this time his inventiveness lead to the creation of many new products and breakthrough technologies, such as the use of Dark Matter as fuel, the first robot capable of qualifying for a boat loan and a sport-utility robot, the design of which would become the basis of all robots running in the early 31st century. It was during this time he also began an on-again, off-again relationship with Mom, the owner of the company, who was having a similar relationship with Wernstrom. By the end of this period, Mom had fallen pregnant with their child, a secret she would keep from him for many years.

Planet Express
After numerous tries with Mom, and with a need for money to fund his research, he founded Planet Express, an interstellar delivery company. Early on, he hired his oldest friend, Dr. John A. Zoidberg as the company's staff doctor. In addition, he hired Hermes Conrad as the company's bureaucrat. In 2998, Amy Wong entered the company as an engineering intern, but has since remained in the company for several years.

Farnsworth has had numerous crews, whom he frequently sends to their doom. As a result many have died horribly or gone missing. Shortly after one such instance, late on the 31st of December 2999, he learned that he was not the last surviving member of his family. His long lost and far removed uncle, Philip J. Fry, had just been defrosted. Fry, Turanga Leela and Bender Bending Rodríguez were hired early the next morning and have been his longest surviving crew, who despite 10 years in the company remain alive.

Farnsworth doesn't always just send his crew on simple delivery missions, but has sent them on charity missions as well as highly controversial missions. Even when his crew and company is unrelated or unsuited to the task, he isn't shy to send them along anyway.

Legacy
As a member of the Academy of Inventors, the Professor has created many things. Often these don't live up to his expectations and are ridiculed by his fellow inventors. Occasionally, however, they can help save the day; the Smell-O-Scope for instance was laughed at by colleagues and Wernstrom had his revenge by giving it a poor grade, shortly afterward it detected a giant ball of garbage in space that was on a collision course with New New York. After the Planet Express crew averted the crisis, Wernstrom once more announced a thirst for revenge.

After his 150th birthday party, Hubert realised that he had no one to continue his work when he is gone. After days hidden in the lab, he emerged announcing that the clone he'd been growing the past twelve years would be his heir. Unfortunately, Cubert did not want to follow in his footsteps. Farnsworth finally decided that his life was over, and revealed his actual age, 160, the age at which Sunset Squad Robots would come and take him away to the Near Death Star. Soon after a rescue by his crew, Cubert finally decided to carry on with Farnsworth's research.

Corporate Takeover
After a brief reunion with Mom on Mother's Day of the previous year, 3002 saw Farnsworth's company taken over twice. On the first occasion, Cubert and Hermes' son Dwight expanded their paper route to consume Planet Express. Soon after this takeover, Awesome Express fell apart due to poor management. On the second occasion, a shareholder meeting resulted in a mysterious stranger taking over as CEO from Farnsworth. Castle's running of the company was more successful, despite no deliveries being made during this time. Inevitably the company dropped back to it's original poor stock price after the new CEO's death and Farnsworth's reinstatement.

Old Problems
When a heatwave hits and the usual method to counteract global warming fail, the Professor is forced to admit that all modern robots are descended from his designs, which produce lots of pollution. The scientists at the conference plan to destroy the robots is soon thwarted and Hubert received a medal for saving the planet and its robots. About a week later after his staff decided that he had become too old, they took him to The Bubbling Geezer a visit that resulted in everyone becoming younger. The eventual resolution of this situation took them to the Fountain of Aging, where the waters made him "even older" than he had been.

Dark Matters
Over the years, Farnsworth's feud with Wernstrom continued to grow, and when an anomaly forms a short distance from the Earth the pair compete in Deathball to decide who will investigate. After Farnsworth's investigation proved unsuccessful the pair found themselves united for the first time since the pop quiz as the collaborated in research together, protested and shared a prison cell. But their new found friendship fell apart once more following an inter-universe relationship with Yivo.
When Mom faked a dark matter shortage in 3008 in order to increase the price of dark matter worldwide, Farnsworth finally told the tale of how he discovered it, and decided to end it all, so that scientist could spend their time on developing cleaner fuels, such as Whale Oil. Farnsworth managed to enter Mom's dark matter mine on Alaska, which turned out to be a Nibblonian farm, where Mom had kept Nibblonians imprisoned for years to produce dark matter. However, with the help of his crew and his long lost son Igner, Farnsworth managed to bring the crystals close enough together to render dark matter useless. After converting to whale oil and receiving a few bribes for scientific endorsements, he joined the rest of the crew on a journey into a wormhole. Although most of the crew were killed as the ship crashed into Earth in early 3010, he survives and helps bringing them back to life.
Relationships
Farnsworth has at least on 3 accounts went back with his major love, Mom. At around age 90, he worked for Mom's Friendly Robot Company, where he designed robots for the company as well as toys, such as Q. T. McWhiskers, but Mom's suggestion of turning the toy into a giant made Farnsworth leave her, because she simply didn't understand him and from then on conflict grew between them.

He would later return to Mom's company to work on creating actual robots, but back then, robots were stiff moving and not very efficient, however, when he sacrificed fuel efficiency, he succeeded, unfortunately, this robot design also caused global warming. Why he left Mom this time remains unsettled, but it may be because he once realised she was evil.

On a third occasion, Farnsworth was once again at the company with Mom, where he discovered the secret of Dark Matter, around the time where Mom's sons were born. But when he found out she had left him for Dr. Ogden Wernstrom, he left once again.

While his relationship with Mom has certainly be his largest, it has not been his only one, during a brief period of regaining the appearance of youth using stem cells from GeneWorks, S.K.G., he found a girl willing to date him, although she also turned out to have used her tax rebate for a belly ring to make her appear thinner. There was also a breif fling with Hattie while they were on the Titanic.

In the episode "Proposition Infinity", it is shown that the Professor had a 40 year long relationship with a woman whom he met before Mom. This woman cheated on the Professor with a robot which caused the Professor's hatred towards robossexual couples. It was also later revealed that that woman was herself a robot, and her name was Unit 47.

A creepy utilization of his body occurred in "The Prisoner of Benda", when he trades bodies with Amy. Amy then proceeds to trade bodies with Leela, causing Fry to himself trade bodies with Dr. Zoidberg. Leela used Farnsworth's body to prove that her relationship with Fry is partially physical. At dinner, Leela (in Farnsworth's Body) is disgusted by Fry (in Zoidberg's body), and vice-versa. When Leela-Farnsworth tells Fry-Zoidberg to prove his love, Fry-Zoidberg passionately kisses Leela-Farnsworth. This eventually leads to Leela-Farnsworth having Intercourse with Fry-Zoidberg. this marks the first known time he physically slept with a male. Mentally, however, Leela was the one who slept with Fry-Zoidberg.
Additional Info
Trivia
*He was named "Farnsworth" in honor of Philo T. Farnsworth, the inventor of modern television, which was unveiled to America at the same World's Fair as the Futurama exhibit that the show is named for.
*Throughout the series, we are never shown the professor's eyes, until the comic "Downsized!". This may or may not have been authorized by Matt Groening.
*Has the same blood type as Amy Wong. He has stated that is one of the reasons why he likes "keeping her around" (1ACV02).
*His bank account number is 299792458, which is the speed of light in meters per second.
*Became a wizard (quite possibly a parody of Gandalf) in 3.
*A certain running gag with the writers is to drop hints in the show that the professor is a cannibal of sorts.
*Also known as the Catman, due to his ability to land on his feet after falling great distances. However, it has apparently been so long since the last time he used this ability that even the Professor himself has forgotten why they called him the Catman.
*Has a "Thug Life" tattoo on his back.
*His driving position is up against the windscreen of the ship, a parody of the stereotypes of elderly drivers.
*Like his extremely distant relative Fry, he had orange hair when he was younger.
*At the start of the series his voice was nearly identical to Fry's, only slightly deeper and much older-sounding. As time went on however, the Professor's voice became much more distinct from Fry's, partly due to concerns by the creators that viewers with poor or no eyesight would find it hard to distinguish between the two.
*Is the probably oldest living human on Earth, excluding the heads in jars and peoples who were cryogenically frozen, because of his escape from the Near Death Star.
*Occasional references to cannibalism.

Catchphrase
Originally, the professor's catchphrase was going to be "...though I am already in my pajamas." This was only used in the first and second episodes.

The professor's basic catchphrase is "Good news, everyone!" The phrase is used so frequently that it was already possible to joke about it in the seventh episode.

He also occasionally refers to "Zombie Jesus" either by saying "Sweet Zombie Jesus" or "Holy Zombie Jesus".

When he is spoken to or asked a question, he also commonly says "Eh-wha?" This is used often to emphasize his senility and hearing loss.

Occasionally, he will say something along the lines of "What in ________ happened?!" For instance, "What in Sega Genesis happened to you?!" or "What in Satan's glorious name is going on here?!"

Another "catchphrase" used by the Professor is "Oh My..."

The last catchphrase used by the Professor is "Wernstrom!"
