I ask because he never had an official role on the show; however, Zapp Brannigan was written for him specifically to voice (which Billy West modeled on his take), and Philip J. Fry is named after him. So he did have some relevance to the show. -- DeepSpaceHomer 03:41, 3 March 2011 (CET)

I think so. While he didn't get a chance to work on Futurama, he had an impact. Not to mention, over 50 episodes on the Simpsons. Teyrn of Highever 04:27, 3 March 2011 (CET)
...Because they aren't relevant. He is though, I suppose. - Quolnok 10:41, 3 March 2011 (CET)
While the other things like the Simpsons aren't relevant to Futurama it could be mentioned briefly, I suppose. If we have an article for Joss Whedon, someone who was only mentioned once, it seems strange that their isn't an article for the person Zapp was written for. The Simpsons should definitely not be the main focus of the article, but there should probably be a mention that his work on the show is what inspired Matt Groening to create Zapp. -- DeepSpaceHomer 15:11, 3 March 2011 (CET)
I agree with all of you. Phul speed ahead! Sanfazer 19:34, 3 March 2011 (CET)
Looking back, that's probably something I shouldn't have said. Sanfazer (talk) 01:39, 5 August 2013 (CEST).

I completely agree Phil Hartman may not have been on the show but originally he was to voice Fry and and Fry is actualy named after him so have an artical to comemerate him would be a good idea. futuramafan11 (talk)
