I realise that this is not as easy on the eye as the Fry family tree, but I wanted to try and create the most thorough family tree possible. In light of Fry and Leela's marriage in Time Keeps On Slipping (and arguably The Farnsworth Parabox), and the Kif/Amy/Leela threeway of Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch.

I would welcome any thoughts, omissions, any tarting up of the fonts or images.

Non-current and alternate marriages without offspring do not have a place in the tree, so there is no valid link fro Fry to Leela. The Kroker/Wong/Turanga section on its own however is valid and worth having. Note that I wrote Turanga, not Leela, because the family name should be used. - Quolnok 05:38, 3 June 2007 (PDT)

I agree with the other criticisms here. The image itself is interesting, but the link between Leela and Fry is non-existent. Perhaps a separate family tree for the whole Wong/Turanga/Kroker thing would be fine, but there's no reason to tack it onto the Fry family. In fact, another family tree is an excellent idea. Oh, and Leela's family name: It's Turanga. Her name is Turanga Leela, and her parents' names (as seen on the envelope she mails them in Less than Hero) are Turanga Morris and Munda. Therefore, the family name is Turanga. It happens in many asian names, as well as Bajorans. Yes, I'm a nerd. --Buddy 14:34, 3 July 2007 (PDT)

I doubt it has much to do with Asians. If anything, it might have more to do with the sci-fi link of the Bajorans. But I think the answer is even simpler than that. The Turanga Leela page lists several possibilities for her name, including the musical piece Turangalila. They probably just thought "Leela" was the prettier part of the name (better than having characters calling her Turanga all the time--not very pretty and kind of a mouthfull) and went from there. Then, when the time came to name her parents, they just had to use the same convention. I doubt there was really all that much thought put into it. And no, even if there are more asians in the US, many change their names around to more conform with Western names. That way they aren't constantly being called Mister [given name]. Just makes things easier I guess. But it helps contribute to the ignorance of the American people when you dumb things down for us. --Buddy 20:22, 3 July 2007 (PDT)
